Up until the infamous flare incident, Dida was the best keeper around imho. After that he lost that magic edge which made him so good.

So true. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/king.gif) There were a few years when he was the absolute best. But this is the way with most keepers, they are at their ultimate peak for a couple of years, and then slide a bit. In essence their performances hover over a certain limit. That is unless they get hit by a burning flare.

So, he's retired officially, or what?

Here's a similar picture:

I guess so. He's been a free agent since he left us one year ago.

He hasn't officially announced anything yet, but seeing him still playing something like an ambassador to Milan is nice.

Personally, I'd like to see him hang 'em up and keep some kind of role with the club.

We already have good goalie coaches.

But his retirement is funny to me. When he left Milan, he still could have easily played for 1 or 2 years minimum. If he had no intention of doing so, he could have announced it before season end.

And I really fail to believe he simply had no offers.

Dida scored with a header on Sunday and assisted Serginho's 4th (!!), in a Milan greats vs Indonesia greats friendly match.

I always thought there was something wrong with Dida being a goalie. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
