The most disgusting display I have ever seen from my Milan ! Cesare Maldini: "..I have been with Milan for 40 years, never once has something like this happened .. Never once has such an unethical behavior happened by anyone representing Milan." Gattuso's conduct and representation of my club is unacceptable.. I demand immediate termination of his contract. And those who claim Flamini is better; his yellow card should have been a red card! Never once, not under any of Allegri's predecessors tolerated such conduct. He is not capable of managing this team! He is weak in the head, I do not care what position we are in the league, nor do I expect to proceed to the later stages of the Champions .. Allegri is to be held accountable for allowing Gattuso to continue dragging Milan's image to the ground. You loose some, you win some .. this is football. Spurs played better, they played with a cool mind-set, they took a 0-1 from the San Siro, but the tie is not over ... There is still a second leg and despite the disadvantage of our position in this tie .. Who knows, there is still another 90 minutes to go. I don't care if the ref favored one side over the other as well, I expect Milan to loose in the Champions, I expect Milan to slip from 1st place ... But never could I expect such disgrace. Should I go on? Excuses aside, Tottenham are a very good team. Not because of today's result, but the 4-4-1-1 tactics was the catalyst to their sharp display. Milan looked like Cagliari in the belly of one of the Premiere League's finest. This is the time you sit back and reminisce on those days when even if Milan does not win the league, still Milan is represented by gentlemen. Not thugs! Once upon a time .. Carlo Ancelotti (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) All true. But not just under Ancelotti... this never happened before him either. I don't expect Milan to terminate Gattuso's contract nor do I expect Allegri to get fired. But I want something to be done about Gattuso in particular. He must not wear the armband again at the very least. It would be a great move from the management. I take pride in my team being classy. This feels as bad as Istanbul... and I never though I'd say that. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

I have read enough. I could not give two hoots about "the champions league" this season, all i want this season is serie A title! The way the transfers have gone this year, the way it looks as tho we are trying to build for the future it seems the management are thinking same way.... CL is great for money but it does not hold the prestige of the OLD European Cup. Both CL and Europa league are just about making money, and focusing on tournaments like this is detrimental to football as a whole.
How can you call it champions league when there are more 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed teams in their respective leagues involved in the comp?
BRB gotta puke at the banality of it all.
Aw thats better.... TV, Media, Press tell us what is important in football, and i am done bowing to bearded twats in boiler suits telling me how i should live my life. Serie A comes first.....if we can also win Coppa Italia i will be ecstatic, CL is third on my list and i will tell you why!
In my lifetime as a fan and follower of The Rossoneri, i want to wear a shirt with two stars on it!!! I also want my young son to wear that shirt with two stars on it, and i want him to grow up watching football that is skillfull, tactical and exciting.
Forza Milan!

I instantly thought of you when I read it because you've said that many times before.
but I really don't get it... to me it's just a name... it does not have a league format either... so what? these are the best teams in Europe that take part in the CL in my view. would it be any different if it was called the "champions and 2-4th placed teams cup"?
and I've said it before but I'd take a CL victory over not just one but two league wins. Though I'd prefer the scudetto this season - not that we ever had a chance on the CL.

I don't know if the viewpoint from the stadium is different, but I thought in the second half we dominated Tottenham. What we lacked though, was creativity, and I blame Allegri for that. His decisions were completely erratic. Yepes performs well against Serie A teams, but against fast-paced teams he's useless. His tackle on Lennon in Tottenham's goal was unnecessary and plain embarrassing. Moreover, Thiago, Flamini and Gattuso in midfield created jacksh*t, and Seedorf's pitiful performance didn't help either. Pato's entrance in the second half changed things a bit, but we barely created 2-3 real opportunities, all from corner kicks. This game reminded me of Inter-Milan of last season (when Sneijder got sent off). We literally dominated in the second half, but didn't create anything and ended up losing.
GODDAMNIT!!!

QUOTE (armiss @ Feb 15 2011, 04:48 PM) With so many troubles this season and our very weak fullbacks and in center of the ground without any star i admire Allegri work so much specially our second half , i think with a good market on the summer he will dominate europe !! Thank you!!! Antonini and Abate held up alot better then anyone could have expected. They were flying and intercepting left and right. Antonini was never going to lunge at Lennon at risk getting smoked. He actually forced alot of crappy crosses from Lennon. There is no shame in playing the 1/2y technique if you don't allow a good cross through. Abate had a great grasp of positioning when launching the counters. Problem is nobody saw him going forward. I can honestly say with another year under their belts they can be very important to this team. QUOTE (Locke Lamora @ Feb 15 2011, 04:53 PM) Captain order from now on:
Ambrosini Pirlo Abbiati Inzaghi (just for the hell of it) Captaincy listNesta Pirlo Abbiati ... ... ... Strasser Berlusconi The water boy Oddo that dude in the 3rd row with a maldini jersey Tie : bonnera-That serbian psycho that shutdown the italy-serbia match-Ambro-Rino QUOTE (milanbuf88 @ Feb 15 2011, 05:18 PM) +1
gatusso had so much space on the ball that if he had the skills of even a primavera player he could have at least set up a couple chances. we really miss pirlo. even having boateng instead of flamini or gattuso could have made the difference. zero creativity in the midfield doomed us Max did the best thing he could without a creator in midfield. All this squad has to offer in that department is Pirlo. Allegri deserves praise for taking one of the best CBs in the world and placing him into midfield to add a second great passer to the midfield. Thiago's passing IMO ranks ahead of all but Pirlo's out of our non-forwards. We all knew this team team had only 1 type of mid at the beginning of the year. Slow, out of touch, unoriginal, Reckless players (again with the exception of pirlo). Galliani only got him cup tied solutions. With 45963405 injuries in midfield already + cup tied players, WHAT OTHER OPTIONS DID HE HAVE?! agaisnt a countering team like Spurs, we needed Seedorf-like players to hold possesion, force them into making mistakes and place that killer ball . How is it Allegri's fault if a well rested Seedorf plays like a USELESS DUD!!! Allegri knew what he knew, and knew what he didn't. He left it up to veterans who had been there and acheived everything, as many before him had. The fact that management felt sentimental and kept the older "pulp" of the team is not Max' fault. The only flexibility he had was Seedorf or Merkel, which many would agree, the right choice was made as Robinho's doesn't have the patience or through-ball skills to really excel in that role. QUOTE (han2503 @ Feb 15 2011, 05:25 PM) That's why the little pr!ck is making me dislike him as every week passes. Learn from your mistakes man!! You were clearly in the wrong today, admit it!!!
And now we're just seeing why we have very little chance of going through this tie, because of this guy right here In ac milan ~PLAYERS > Coach ~Coach putting his trust into his players > not ~showing signs of uncertanty towards your own tactics > making it sound like your a fish out of water QUOTE (milanbuf88 @ Feb 15 2011, 05:39 PM) I really think it has more to do with our injuries than coaching. Do any of you really think the result would be the same with a Boa-Pirlo-Flamini midfield from the start? Agreed, Max has the utmost confidence in Boa. Which was actually met with critisicm on MF when he played him as a Trequie, a role which he's scored and made some noice at. QUOTE (mishie @ Feb 15 2011, 05:40 PM) foe me the attack isn't the problem its the loss of Pirlo...even Boateng gives us pace and energy..something we soooooo lacked tonight. there was a passage of play in the last 5 minutes of the 1st half were we moved the ball about with speed and precision and spurs looked lost...if we can do that for a sustained period of time then we may get something out of the game at their place. but how do you replace Pirlo when he's out....impossible i say (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Emauelson + Boatang will add much needed speed next year's CL round QUOTE (X-Offender @ Feb 15 2011, 07:29 PM) I don't know if the viewpoint from the stadium is different, but I thought in the second half we dominated Tottenham. GODDAMNIT!!! You blame Alegri for not making the only mids he had (Rino, Flamini, seedorf) have great, creating performances? Yepes was MotM IMO. Not to blame for missing Lennon. How can you expect dogs to be birds, only to get mad at the results?

Carlo Ancelotti (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I remember voicing my concerns about Allegri and was run out of town (IMG: style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif) I think it's a tragedy that Milan has players like Ibra, Cassano and Van Bommel on their roster....but tonight, Gattuso, one of our suppoed senatore put them all to shame...The very identity of Milan is under threat and a LARGE share of the blame MUST fall in the lap of ALLEGRI. Aside from the TEAM assuming the very personality of Ibra himself, we have sunk to new depths by no longer being compatible with different types of talent. I don't care who disagrees but Allegri NEVER understood Ronaldinho....all of the NONSENSE that he wasn't working well in training etc etc was simply the wallpaper he applied to the cracks in his coaching. I fear the same fate may await Pato as well (IMG: style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

QUOTE (il_diavolo_mtl @ Feb 16 2011, 04:39 AM) tl;dr I think you might have been watching Valencia-Schalke and got somehow confused with the colors and names. No way in hell Abate and Antonini are Milan quality, especially Antonini. He was inexistent in the first half, and Lennon got past him three times in a row. Offensively, he's mediocre, and defensively he gets dribbled way too easily. Abate did somewhat better, but again, not Milan quality. Yepes didn't have a bad game, but he practically laid a red carpet to Lennon in their goal. Had it been Thiago, Lennon would have never made that assist to Crouch. Allegri made the wrong decisions because he's too inflexible in his approach. He's incapable of making changes to our playing system when certain key players are missing. Why opt for a 3-man midfield when you have available only two midfielders? Why play Gattuso and Flamini as box-to-box, when they're clearly incapable of such playing style? Why bench Pato? Given our absences, and given the players at disposal, Allegri should showed some balls and played a 4-2-1-3. Gattuso and Flamini in front of the defense doing what they do best, winning balls. Seedorf as deep-lying trequartista, with Robinho and Pato on the wings. I can't tell you whether we would have won or not, but at least we would have played a much better football than we did tonight.

I honestly don't get the Ibra doesn't like Pato gag. It's just something the crazy media came up with to have something to talk about negative, since at one point we were marching away to glory in the Serie A race. And we eat it up like sardines??!!
It's no secret that our best performing trident is Ibra-Cassano-Robinho. ANd that's not coz of some stupid reason like Allegri/Ibra doesn't like Pato. It's common sense.
One technical big man forward, one brilliant visionary of an SS and one effervescent CAM. If you want you can replace Ibra with Pato and I assume it would also be good. But that begs the age-old question why bench the man in form?
Secondly, Ibra is not showing up in big games?? And yet we call him the saviour? He dragged us through the group stages with his goals. He even 'scored' yesterday. It's I think a simple case of him being damned by his reputation...when the simple truth is like Beckham, like Ronaldo and dare I say like Cassano he has integrated himself well into the unit. Is he a dyed-in-wool rossoneri? No. But he's working his @ss off for the team, just like Robinho. I remember the image of a dehydrated Ibra, puking out there on the pitch after a match. He's left everything out there. ANd we can only say,"Oh that boy is trouble!!"
Finally on Pato....he came back from injury, I doubt his fitness and perhaps playing him from minute 1 and having him run around is not the best option I feel. As for playing with Ibra, he's already scored quite a few off Ibra's assists I think. And last evening when he came on, the grit, the resolve he showed is an aspect of him I've never seen before. He wanted to get involved with a passion and I think that's a great thing to see.
Sometimes benching a player can improve him. And I prefer to believe it when Allegri says it's tactical rather than personal. Pato himself has said he's happy here.
Finally Allegri's 'mistreatment' of R80. The new formation did not suit him. We got scrweed by Madrid primarily because we could not be compact with R80 in there. And his lack of propensity to track back and scrum it out meant the team as a whole were suffering. Ultimately, he lacked the motivation to change himself or to train when he couldn't play in the first XI, so he left.
And it's not like the team has been worse off for it.
