Yep, things are tense enough for it to leak through the 'one happy family' facade. Fishdoll stands by his statement yesterday that the farewell notice has already been written.

How I want to agree with Fishdoll (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I'd rather keep Ancelotti till 2029 then appoint Marco van Basten. What exactly did he do to deserve such attention and Milan link? Got eliminated with Holland in WC round one / EC round two, or eliminated with Ajax from CL, or managed to lead Ajax to 4th place in Holland?

+1, Filip. Marco Van Basten will always be my alltime favourite Milan player but as a coach? Not so much. Of the current lot of alumni who are available, I'd prefer Rijkaard. (Of the alumni who aren't available, it'd be a tossup between Capello and Trap. Trap's press conferences are absolute classics.)

There are coaches who are qualified for the job, Rijkaard for example. as for MvB, it may or may not work, only Nostradamus could tell!

I'd prefer Rijkaard too, cuse he has more experience. But you never know, maybe Marco can prove himself too. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I wouldn't want Rijkaard nor Marco Van Basten to coach AC Milan, and I doubt that we're seriously considering it. Marco Van Basten is a great milan champion, no doubt, but his coaching history speaks for itself. I really doubt Rijkaard is tactically good enough to coach an Italian club. Taking over a Barcelona side, that only knows how to play one way, is different than taking over a Milan side, that is far more versitile. Also in Barcelona he only ever played a 4-3-3, and that wont work for us.

If we need to change coach now, then I think we would be better off picking up some of the new stars from Serie A, Allegri, Prandelli, Gasperini etc. What I would prefer though, is to have one more year with Carlo, and then pick up Lippi after the WC in 2010.

Welcome to Cuore Rossonero! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hm. Speculative comment in a piece on tuttomercatoweb indicating that Milan may be taking a look at Riccardo Montolivo of Fiorentina.

he stated that Ronaldinho was a good buy.

Too bad he's the only one who actually believes that.

I wouldn't mind Montolivo at all but right now I think that if I had to pick one member of Fiorentina to poach, it'd be Jovetic.

Lippi was recently quoted as saying that he has no desire to return to club football as a coach. That rules him out as Milan's next skipper.

That they'll sit around a table and see what to do at the end of the season AND that there are young coaches who are ready to lead Milan (if I've understood it correctly!)

It's on Milannews, Mediaset, etc.

QUOTE (Tennie @ May 17 2009, 10:12 AM) *
Yep. There's also the bit where he stated that Ronaldinho was a good buy and that there are a lot of good coaches around who can coach a big team.

QUOTE (Zed.D @ May 17 2009, 10:16 AM) *
Ah so he's said those. despite saying Carlo is one of the family I think their relationship is pretty tense at the moment. Carlo calling Berlu the Saint (although denied today), Berlu saying these things, etc.

Couple of things.

1. Marco Van Basten had dinner last night with former teammates Mauro Tassotti and Filippo Galli. Could just be coincidence but..
2. Berlusconi announced that there will be a couple of purchases, hinting that the club will buy a defender and attacker. Current speculation says the most likely candidates are Mexes and Adebayor.
