QUOTE (Zed.D @ Feb 1 2009, 05:54 PM) dst, please don't get mad at me for asking this ( (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ), but wasn't booing and jeering a characteristic of glory hunter fans, like Madrid fans? It depends on the situation. Booing a player that's constantly showing lack of interest after the end of a game is justified (as long as that player is not Maldini or Raul). Booing a player that's having a bad day during the match (like the Arsenal and Liverfool fans did with Eboue and Leiva respectively) I believe is totally wrong. Even what I said though is not always right or wrong. Every situation is different. What I said about Real fans back then was that booing Capello when the team is fighting for the championship and even after winning shows lack of class and respect. And I also said that Real Madrid have the most glory hunters of any other team. That has nothing to do with who they are or how I look at them, that's clearly logic; a certain percentage of fans are glory hunters and since Madrid are the most supported club in the world they probably are supported by more glory hunters too... it's not their fault and it would be the same no matter which was the most supported club. I never accused them of that. QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Feb 1 2009, 07:44 PM) Yeah,..well, Real Madrid...ahh...they boo every time something happens. They throw things around, they run naked across stadiums, bring dead animals with them,...so...yes, I mean...Real Madrid fans (the ones dst meant probably, or those who boo a lot) are just stupid, while booing at Seedorf at this stage isn't "that" stupid. Biased, as usual (IMG: style_emoticons/default/devil.gif)

QUOTE (Zed.D @ Feb 1 2009, 05:32 PM) Should I threat this as a compliment? QUOTE Thats a valid point, but do we have any other viable alternatives? The ones we have have been marginalised and/or thrown away (Abate, Gourcuff) Who excatly have we thrown away?

QUOTE (Zed.D @ Feb 1 2009, 08:32 PM) You were being biased there. what was I supposed to say? " couldn't agree with you more"? Now forget it... (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) So it was a compliment! Finally we agree! What a nice way to end this discussion (IMG: style_emoticons/default/96.gif) .

QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Feb 1 2009, 09:26 PM) Booing your own players is stupid. Anyone who does it is a complete prick to be honest. It may be their job to play well for the fans, but it's also the fans job to get behind the players.. do the players turn around and start booing the fans when they're being quiet? No. If I was Seedorf, I'd give the fans that boo'd him a good slagging off. How is it a fan's job to do anything? They are not paid to do it they are paying to be there and that's cause they want to see a "performance". The players are paid to perform and when they constantly underperform a fan has every right to boo them since he pays... just like an actor who constantly underperfroms would be thrown off the stage.

No, you're right, it's not a "job" for the fans to get behind the team.. but it's the reason to go. I don't buy the whole "people go to watch their team play well", no, you go to watch your team play, because you SUPPORT them. If fans went to games just to see good performances, well, that's how you get glory hunters, they just want to see the best teams. Proper fans go to games to get behind their team, regardless of how good they are. Like ZD mentioned earlier, maybe Milan are getting too many of these glory hunters? Like Madrid and Liverpool, who'll boo their team because they aren't putting on the performance of a lifetime, hmm.

That's not what I said.
To get this straight; a fan goes to see his team try... I will upload my team if they did what they could even if they have lost 5-0. But when they constantly show a lack of effort I think they also show lack of respect to the club and the fans who pay to see them.
