QUOTE (Tennie @ Jan 17 2009, 09:01 AM) dst, we turned into a circus worthy of scorn the moment we signed Ronaldo. And then Ronaldinho. And then Beckham. We became a team looking only to sell jerseys and be in the media a long time before Man City made their bid. There was precious little of Milan's reputation left at the beginning of this week. The Kaka saga hasn't improved things; far from it, it's only completed the cycle.
What I don't quite understand is why nobody else sees that and only focuses on the Kaka thing. Didafan tells Fishdoll that he can't really paint everyone with the same brush (fin?) by saying "nobody." I think there are many who would agree with this post or who are not busy crying their eyes out over Kaka 24/7, but are afraid of incurring the wrath of other posters. The Kaka news is huge enough that it's overshadowed everything else on this team. However, he'll get no argument from me that the identity of this team is being dissolved before our eyes. Less than five years ago, we had some of the most recognizable names around, and you knew who they represented just by merely invoking their names. Maldini. Pippo. Sandro. Dida. Ambro. Even old warhorses like Rui and Stam. Now, we're an indistinguishable mix of irrelevant show ponies and unknown young signings who have a chance in hell of playing under Carlo. When someone says "Milan," I don't think Zambrotta or Favalli. I think of the guys I just mentioned before. Anyway, in response to the heart of Fishdoll's post, I wasn't particularly high on Ronaldo coming here, but at the time he seemed motivated enough and gave us the shot in the arm to improve our CL fortunes. And the first thing he did was stick it to Inter in the derby with a goal. Then his knee was reduced to Shredded Wheat and it all went downhill from there. However, I was adamantly against bringing in Ronaldinho and his pissass work ethic right from the start. There was a reason why Barcelona were more than happy to let him walk. It was after his arrival that you started hearing the "are we the new Galacticos?" chatter. One thing I've noticed: there are plenty of Ronaldo fans here (take a bow, acid) and other Milan forums, yet I have yet to see a staunch Ronaldinho supporter. And then Beckham...pfft, let's not even go there. In the end, it's not Kaka's departure that frightens me. It's B&G's lackadaisical attitude about this team and the husk it will become unless we do something with that money.

QUOTE (gal_kenny @ Jan 17 2009, 06:53 PM) I get your point now but does that mean we should emulate them? no..Keeping Kaka is all i'm asking for...Its like selling your brother for a huge sum of money..I mean milan is like a family..i can't sell any of my friends of family for whatever sum of money!!! ya i know, i'm just saying juve werent a terrible team after. right now i'm just so angry, because our management have become so incompetent, selling loaning players then trying to bring them back, bringing in players mainly to sell jerseys, and now this? i could see them blowing this money in two years on useless signings. THIS CLUB HAS NO DIRECTION !!!

Not human or playeer - just thing QUOTE (Il Capitano @ Jan 17 2009, 04:27 PM) If Kaka leaves then the management sends a clear message that everyone in the squad is for sale if the price is right. U are right. Pato will be sold and other future stars.... QUOTE (Habitant @ Jan 17 2009, 05:57 PM) THIS CLUB HAS NO DIRECTION !!! This club has no heart and soul, cos heart will retire in summer, but soul they are going to sell.

QUOTE (dst @ Jan 17 2009, 06:16 PM) Because until now, even with Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Beckham Milan still was the team that stood by its players more than any other. Until now Milan was the team that waited for Pippo to return, that stayed alongside Ambro despite all his injuries, that tried hard to convince Gattuso to stay when everyone was saying he was finished, that despite their age still renewed Maldini's, Costacurta's, Favalli's contract. Until now even with those players you mentioned the fans were still proud of these things that made Milan special... I fail to see what's so special about Milan right now. But wait a second. We still have all that - we still wait for Pippo, we still wait for Ambro and Rino, still have Favalli around...all that. 1. Milan still standing Why I said Milan is still standing? Because this place turned in the last 24 hours into Kakafan, and I think it's premature. I'm the kind off guy that wait's till the official site announces "AC Milan pushed out Kaka". Up till now we: 1) don't know what's going on at Milanello 2) We're even not sure if Kaka will leave (but okay, pretty much sure) - that said, I don't feel like screaming **** you to Berlusconi yet! Can you understand that? Other then state "I'm not satisfied with the Kaka transfer" I don't see any alternative. As I said before, I don't feel the need to torture people with hysteric posts "how everything stopped". 2. MF or KF? I hate the hypocricy and double-morale of this place here. I read day after day posts like "release Maldini", "**** off Favalli" and "***** Emerson". Okay, they (F+E) are not so important or good, but isn't it two-faced to call Milan to release players you don't care about, but as soon as your favorite golden boy is touched you turn the other side and say "Milan is ****, does ***** ******* B&G". I simply cannot digest this that easy. I know Kaka is more valuable then the rest, but still I cannot accept it with ease. 3. The board made mistakes. Milan rightnow has many problems - first of all they're a team without a pilot. Berlusconi is too old, and I knew his victory in Italian elections wouldn't help either. Galliani, he functionated properly till the day Berlusconi lost control over him. After that, he proved to be human - made good and bad decisions. Our transfer policy is not really a policy - we have no course set - and this is because we tried to be different the other clubs. Sadly, I think we failed. Sadly. A solution will be, when a new board emerges. In my understanding, Berlusconi has done enough for Milan to be respected and defended by me to the last breath! 4. The circus. I cannot agree with that statement, but I can understand. I don't like Beck's either, I'm not that of a Dinho fan. I can understand that it's frightening imagine Milan's near future without Maldini and Kaka. But it's reality. What can we do? We can stop support Milan or digest it. The worst solution is to maintain cheer for Milan but hate almost everything around it - Ancelotti, 50% of the players, the board - and share that hate. 5. Stop watching football. Is football dead? No. Is football dying? Yes. And it's normal. Football reached decadent highs long time ago. It's not just about the money. It's more then that.

At this point, it does'n matter if Kaka' leaves Milan now or not....the spirit of AC MILAN is already broken.....it will take several years to get over this mess.

Translation Manchester City its not the right team for Kaka', says "El Niño Torres" "Manchester City is not the right team for Kaká. Seriously. How can pay 100 million for Kaka? The big players want to win trophies and Manchester City isn't even one of the teams that compete for trophies in England. Are struggling to remain in the Premier or to reach half of the table. " "It would be a fantastic contract, but there are other things that are more important than money. A player wants to be remembered for what he has won. Imagine ten years after retiring, and back view you're not in any photos that you have no medals, there is no trophies. It's like playing for nothing, "said Torres. "Just got a fantastic car, a fantastic house, but what does it matter? You can have a better contract than your friends, but no player looks back and says, 'I won more money, " concluded.
