specialy for Portugal & Gulliver : From Official milan Web-site : Kala becomes central figure 14/04/2006 21:10:54 It may have been a strange derby, but Kakha Kaladze will not remember it that way. The game had been moved to Friday evening to give Milan time to prepare for next Tuesday's Champions League semi-final against Barcelona in the same San Siro stadium. It was originally set for an 8pm kick-off but events leading up the game meant that it started in bright sunshine at 6pm. It was the unlikely figure of the Georgian defender who finally broke the deadlock of what had been an absorbing encounter between the city rivals, where not an inch of space was conceded. Kaladze has become a key figure in the heart of the defence, developing an unbeatable partnership alongside Alessandro Nesta in the absence of the injured Poalo Maldini. The captain returned for the derby but at left-back, with Marcos Cafu at right-back. The backline certainly had a familiar look to it, and in the past Kala may have been the odd-man out but on the Friday before Easter he became the central figure and wrote himself into Rossoneri history.
