Things I learned watching the Fox Soccer Report:
* Luca Toni played against Fiorentina
* The Artemio Franchi stadium where Fiorentina plays is in Spain.

Fishdoll note: Axis of footballing evil membership notwithstanding, a cookie to the Real fans. They gave Del Piero a standing ovation last night when he was subbed off. That was a nice gesture.

It's also their [classy] way of criticizing their own team's performance..

Artemio Franchi himself. You know... the Spaniard.

Haha. It was Jeremy both times, Habitant. Luca Toni in the first half of the broadcast, Spain in the second.

[conspiracy theory mode] Okay, I'm rewatching the Real-Juve game and I've noticed something rather interesting. The last defender Del Piero had to get past on his first goal was Cannavaro and it was Cannavaro fouling Sissoko that led to the free kick (TERRIBLE positioning of the wall by Casillas on that one) for the second goal. I'm almost half tempted to wonder if there was some sort of unconscious error(s) by Cannavaro against his former team. [\conspiracy theory mode]

That's what I was talking about with my brother. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) He said that if it was too good to be true, it usually is!

I think of it more as an unfortunate coincidence.
Cannavaro really should leave Real, he hardly ever plays like himself for them. In fact he shouldn't have gone there in the 1st place (dumb choice of club football imo).

I agree Canna might have 'unconsciously' helped Juve!

I hope he retires from NT! he's not that amazing 'Berlin Wall' anymore! besides he needs only 8 games to reach Maldini's record. wouldn't people be unhappy to see him become Italy's most capped player ahead of God?

I'd say 6. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) He's at exactly 120 caps.

Anyway, yeah, I used to think like this, but one day I thought what if Paolo was happy someone was taking over his record? I honestly can't imagine a guy like him being unhappy over this. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) And to be brutally honest, Cannavaro is no where near Paolo's stature, anyway. He's the best after Nesta, and in Italy's top echelon of defenders, yeah, but can't touch Maldini's legacy.

My brain doesn't even recognize this "event" as a legitimate competition without Milan participating in it. I like my brain.

I personally like him. he's very intelligent [kinda like Berba but MUCH more active!]. could his bad performances be a result of lack of motivation? I mean he usually does good in bigger games.
