I'm not saying that we don't have depth. We do. What I'm driving at here is that the depth is of no use if most of it is unable to play due to injury or lack of fitness.
Well I'm going to see we don't have enough depth.
GK: Abbiati (Dida & Kalac) -- We have two number 2 quality keepers, and one number 3 quality. Depth is there, starter isn't.
RB: Zambrotta (Oddo) -- I'm not sure either guys are number one quality to compete at the very top anymore. But at least we have two good RBs, when they want to be.
LB: Jankulovski (Favalli) -- Janku is good enough to start, not sure about Favalli being good enough for a backup though. Yes, he did well as a number 3 for us last season. But if Janku goes down and he had to play alot..
CB: Nesta (Bonera) -- Good enough starter and good enough backup, no problem here.
CB: Maldini (Kaladze) -- Maldini isn't good enough anymore, Kaladze is okay in all honesty. Still makes too many mistakes, but if he sorted out his concentration he'd be a decent backup.
DM: Flamini (Ambrosini) -- More than good enough in my opinion.
DM: Pirlo (..Emerson?) -- Pirlo is fine, Emerson is not even close anymore.
DM: Gattuso (Brocchi) -- Gattuso isn't as good as he was say 2 years ago, think he's losing 'it' a bit. The less said about Brocchi the better.
AM: Ronaldinho (Viudez) -- I'm not sure R10 has it anymore, I can't se "we're covered" here when his performances have been poor and his back-up is unproven.
AM: Kaka (Seedorf) -- One of the best 3 players in the World backed up by Seedorf.. maybe him being backup will make his terrible attitude change.
ST:: Pato (Paloschi, Inzaghi & Boriello) -- Not 100% sure Pato can last a full season, but we'll see. Good overall though, with youth.
We have acceptable depth in about half of the positions. But the other half is just not good enough if we really want to challenge for the title, even if we aren't in the CL.
