What's the betting we play Fiorentina late in the season and he scores the winner, at the San Siro, to send them to 4th and us to UEFA Cup football? If that happened, Galliani and co. should be beheaded, literally.

That's just some crazy talk... Gila was not working for us obviously and his record in the CL is ridiculous at best. He was obviously not happy about sitting on the bench either so he made the best decision for himself, so did the club. Now will the club replace him with a world class player? Like they should? It's likely.

Good luck Gila!

If Gila did score against us, I wonder if he would celebrate. Perhaps not. Since we've been so nice to him.

No...Gila was not working out for us. But it must have been a technical deficiency I guess. If it was mental, they'd just have loaned him out, and let him gain his mojo back.

He's 26. Inzaghi called him the future of Italian forwards. I have no doubt he will shine elsewhere. Too bad it wasn't for us. Maybe there will be someone else.

Milan really seem like they're running out of Italians. That said, I have great hope for our youth squad. Suddenly they're making a lot of news. But it's in cases like this, that our status attacks us. Since we're expected to win something or the other every season, it's not easy to just let young players play, and gain experience in the first squad and become superstars.

I mean thanks to Kaka and our mid-field, Di Gennaro is probably never going to crack into the first 11. Thanks to Pato, Pippo and whoever we will buy, Paloschi might have to kick his heels for sometime. And our defence, well maybe here there is some room, for Marzoratti or Darmian. But not immediately.

The thing is these kids are gonna step in , and every move will be like...'Oooohh...Maldini would have done this, or Nesta would have done that....the apple's fallen far from the tree!' etc.

Sooner or later the Daniele and Christian are going to start knocking too. And then it will be interesting. 3 generations playing for Milan. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I think he will. I remember Carlo singled him out in one interview for playing badly, which is a big no-no as a manger, and then the booing he received from the Milan fans. And it's not like he's a Milan fan or anything.

I know exactly what I'd do if I had a bad time at a club that I didn't support, then I went to score against them. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

But he didn't have a bad time. Every trophy he's ever won has been after he came to Milan.

And the media and the world have asked for his head a million times, the management didn't give it to them.
And Carlo has praised him just as much.

You? You're British! You're weird! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

After being presented at Fiorentina by the President. Alberto spoke about several things:

- He said he was delighted to be at Fiorentina and that he knew from the first day of negotiations that this would go smoothly.

- He praised Milan a lot and that what he won in 3 years with the Rossoneri, he wouldnt have had teh chance to with any other team. He also said that those 3 years were the most important in his life, as they helped him mature .. He also said that Milan is the club that helped strengthen him mentally.

- He says he is delighted to be back with Prandeli, a coach who gave him the chance to express himself. He also, shared that his rapport with Prandeli is that of a very good one.

- He also commented on not being able to make it to the Azzurri, he said he sorry for that, but is not too down hearted as he knows he hasn't been playing consistently.

- He is also happy to play along side Mutu, and that they know each other well both on and off the pitch. He then talked about Pazzini and said that (a typical Pippo style statement (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ) Pazzini is strong and that him being at Fiorentina wont cause him problems, there are a lot of games to play and there will be room for everyone.

- His first interpretation of the club is a positive one, there is a lot of seriousness and practicality. And their first goal of the season is the CL preliminaries.

If Gila scores against us i am certain he will celebrate. When he moved to us we played Parma in January, someone interviewd him and asked if he would celebrate. I am not sure what his exact response was but he did say he would celebrate. The only club he wouldnt celebrate against is his first club (Hellas Verona? Piacenza?)

I am pretty certain he will hit at least 15 goals if not more. I can also see him scoring against us, he does after all know our defenders inside out...

Gila's a good lad. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

I hope to see him back in Milan along with Prandelli and Montolivo next season! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif)

I'm tempted to make a joke about the second picture but I would be harsh on Gila (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Gilardino on SKY - he was asked of the reason for why he was pushed to the back of the pecking order at the end of his career at Milan.

"I don't know, and I cant even start to explain. But I believe that in the life of a footballer, such things do happen. But I was always a professional about it, and for that I think Milan did the right thing on their part. All things aside, I am very grateful for Milan, as I have won a lot, in specific 3 trophies, and ended the negotiations in the best way possible. "

He continued, "Now I want to do good things for Fiorentina. To score goals, to play calmly, and to give a helping hand at getting past the preliminaries. In Milan I gained a lot of experience on how to prepare for big games, and I am planning to pass this onto my new teammates."

QUOTE (m1ke @ May 28 2008, 03:57 PM)
I'm sad on a personal level - he seemed like a nice guy. But I'm not going to miss his performances.

It's better for him like this anyway - he'll probably do well at Fio.
*

+1
He is a nice guy, his performances were in line with those of Milan (the first year he was very good and also Milan was good, than it was just going down for him and for Milan).
He WILL do well at Fiorentina with a more suited playing system for him and I really wish him all the best!

Just don't score against us. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
