Adriano Galliani after the defeat against Atalanta. The game according to the CEO was decided by arbitration garish errors:

"The game was absolutely determined by the first time played evil are our problems, but the three errors committed by successive Brighi were fatal. One in our against, and two in favour dell'Atalanta. Sadly it is useless to complain, so then tell us that everything is fine. foul of Floccari on Oddo on the first goal is resounding, instead Seedorf goal was valid. Incredible assisitente then as the line near Langella has not noticed that the same Games held at stake Clarence. And then of course the goal was regular Ambro. Sadly, we still lost a game at home. "

The problem is not San Siro, playing at home, not the grass, not the stands, not the city...

The problem is teams when playing Milan (or Inter) in San Siro tend to deffend deep with 10 players behind the ball, 10 players inside their box. And we - unlike Inter - can't do shite against that. That's exactly where the big teams make the difference.

Playing away from home, we've more space for counters. And the 2 best ofensive players we have - Kaka' and Pato - love to play in counter-attack.

That's why our record in Serie A/San Siro this season is beyond ridiculous: 4 wins, 7 draws, 4 defeats.

QUOTE
Ancelotti: Never again!

Carlo Ancelotti is furious with his squad over “the usual mistakes” and demanded changes in attitude. “No more second chances.”

Milan’s Champions League hopes are evaporating as despite Fiorentina’s loss away to Udinese today, they dropped into sixth place and are still four points adrift of fourth.

“I know my players and what they can do from here until the end of the season. We still have a possibility, but there are no more second chances after this. We must not look for alibis.

“We are aware of the difficult moment we’re going through and will try to get out of it. Not qualifying for the Champions League would weigh heavily on us. We have a possibility and must make the most of it.”

This loss to Atalanta was Milan’s second consecutive 2-1 defeat at San Siro after an identical dismal performance against Sampdoria 10 days ago.

“We made the usual mistakes that we tend to make at home,” admitted Ancelotti. “It was a bland start and a bit lazy, so in the end we paid the price. In some situations we were very distracted, just as we were against Samp.”

The Rossoneri had two goals controversially disallowed for a Clarence Seedorf offside flag and Massimo Ambrosini’s push, but the Coach did not look for excuses.

“The referee was on a par with our performance today, but having said that we certainly didn’t lose because of him.

“Our entire game is to be wiped off the slate, there was nothing to be salvaged from it. In the second half we tried with a bit more grit, but left ourselves very open to the counter.”

Andrea Pirlo has been on very poor form recently and saw his last-minute penalty saved by Ferdinando Coppola, while the absence of the injured Kaka, Pippo Inzaghi and Ronaldo is making itself felt.

“Now we have to make changes,” slammed Ancelotti. “We cannot carry on like this. We hope to have Kaka back for the next game, but at the moment we are not defending well and not attacking well either.

“Something will change, but I am not so much talking about the players as the attitude. We’ll see what happens on Saturday.”

The Rossoneri welcome on form Cagliari to San Siro next weekend and then travel to Juventus on April 12.

Meanwhile, for Atalanta it was a glorious afternoon and their first Serie A victory here in 17 years.

“It was an almost perfect performance,” smiled assistant manager Francesco Conti, as Coach Gigi Del Neri sat out a touchline ban.

“At the end we suffered under Milan’s siege, but did well to react. It’s true we were a little lucky, but you need that to win in football.”

Unlike many of you, I think going to UEFA will only do good to Milan. believe me, if we make the CL we will not see much changes in the summer... it will be a few +30yo and short term solutions.

UEFA cup = less ambitions = less quality players

It's not that Bayern's tactic can be of an use for us. Cause everyone who watches german football knows exactly that there is Bayern München and the rest. If any ambitious German player or a player in the Bundesliga decides to move, it'll be Bayern or a new country. Cause no matter Bayern ended up 4th, there is no alternative and everybody knows that only Bayern can garantee you domestic titles and european matches on high level. Bayern have no contenders, just teams who can jump in if they're not in the mood.

In Italy it's different. There are players who decide to stay with the club they love no matter what (10%), then there are players who are fans of Lazio, Milan, Inter as kids and dream/wait for them to bid (25%) and there are players who simply are good and have to choose and make a judgment on which team will be more successfull. That's why players used to pick Milan over Inter. That can change. Crespo, Ibrahimovic, Suazo, etc. showed the way. If we loose CL, we'll have a much worse starting position in the negotiations. Why would Barzagli for ex., a "neutral player" (neither Inter or Milan fan) pick Milan over Inter? If he picks Inter he'll get a good paycheck, he'll be with the Italian Champs. or Coppa contenders and he'll play the CL. In Milan he can get the same as Palermo (UEFA cup or nothing), maybe a better paycheck and no titles. I know, we have tradition&history on our side, but that isn't just a good enough card to play. That's why we need the CL spot.

exactly. We gotta lose this attitude that big players want to play for milan just cause we are milan and we have been great in the past. It doesnt count for s*** now adays. Its whose got money and whose got champions league next season. Same reasons why suazo picked inter over us. He thought they would win the league and do good in cl.

Why would Mourinho come to this OLD team with only 1 young talent (Pato)!!!!

He would definitely choose Inter or Barca or Madrid over Milan. Plus no CL football!...

sigh my guess is Rikjaard coming to Milan, Mourinho to Barca.. and Milan playing in Uefa Cup (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
