QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Feb 18 2008, 08:14 AM) You do have valid points. I don't want to go on and on with this anyways, We'll never get anywhere and I like you, so I don't want to have pages and pages of nothing for no reason. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Fair enough. You don't have to agree with me and everyone has his own opinion. People over here defend\bash Gila, Dida, Kaladze, Carlo, etc, and it's mostly the same arguments all over again. Everyone has his favorites (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

QUOTE (mishale @ Feb 18 2008, 09:11 AM) First of all he turned our Serie A season around last year, was a major part of Milan getting the 4th place which gave us the chance of resting key players before important CL games. We are talking about a legend here. So what that he played most of his best foorball for other clubs? He is at Milan now. Got injured while playing for our club and what the mangement was supposed to do? throw him out? or it's his fault that he got injured? What's your point? Yes Gila had a nice Serie A first season with 17 goals (even though most of them were un important but I'll give you that) . What did he do in CL playing along side Sheva? 0 Big fat 0 in 10 games. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) There were his mentality problems very visible. Just who can forget his misses in the first leg of the Baca clash? Last season? He was very bad. He scored only 12 gooals in 30 games (Kaka scored as much just in the CL). Our top Serie A scorer you say? We had Oliveira who were sh!t, Pippo who's old and can't play that many games anymore and Ronaldo who joined only in January and scored 7 goals in 14 games. The fact that he our top scorer with so little goals just shows you the mistakes of our board in putting this team together. This season is the same. Pippo can play that many games, Ronaldo was injured most of the time and Pato just joined and alreadyscored 4 goals in 6 games while Gila has 7 in 19 games. He was sh!t last season, just like this season. And of course you can't count on him in the CL at all. He's just a mediocre Serie A striker that can be a 3-4 choice at Milan and nothing more. Look at Pippo. At his prime he was one of the most lethal strikers in europe and in Gila's age was one of the most feared strikers. Gila will never be something even close to him. And we need such world class players. The absurd is that even now, when he's 35, he's still prefered in Europe over Gila. And no, you cannot compare Pippo's lasts seasons Serie A records with Gila's. Pippo is not the same player anymore and his legs can't carry a full season at this level, but you are welcome to compare them both in mid 20's and to see a real difference between world class and mediocrity. Nobody saying we just need to drop him and play with what left. He need to be replaced I have no doubt that half of Gila's problems are mentality problems, the other half being lack of a supporting striker around him. Gila did quite OK when he had a partner in Pato, he scored two crucial goals /worth 6 points/ in those 4-5 games. but as soon a Pato got injured, Gila turned to the old useless striker. he just can't play alone. that's HIS problem though. a problem that will keep him far away from being a world class. So... he's good enough to be at Milan, but absolutely not as the first or even second choice. that's my opinion.

QUOTE 29/02/2008 Gilardino Set For Juventus Transfer Talks
The chances of Alberto Gilardino moving to Juventus in the summer are looking increasingly more likely as, according to reports in Italy, the player’s agents are expected in Turin in the coming days to discuss a transfer. »Comments (56) Print This Story Send To A Friend Contact Us galleria zoom It has long been speculated that Gilardino is in his last year at Milan, as he has once again failed to impress this season.
The 25-year-old has been a major disappointment since signing for the Rossoneri in a big-money move from Parma in 2005.
Fiorentina have been heavily linked with making a move, however Tuttosport yesterday revealed that Juventus were preparing a significant offer to bring Gila to Turin.
The Italy international’s agents Beppe and Marcello Bonetto will travel to Turin in the next few days to begin transfer talks with the Juventus hierarchy.
Milan Coach Carlo Ancelotti as well as transfer guru Adriano Galliani have told Gilardino that he is free to join Juve.
The player himself would jump at the chance to move, considering the fact that he is a huge Juventus fan.
Gilardino was actually close to joining Juve in 2005, until Luciano Moggi pulled out of the deal late in the day as he was unsure over the quality of the player. It's good news to me. Gila's mentality is very near to the Juve one. He's killing the game just like they are, they could be one of a kind. And if Borri is set to come back, then this could make sense - Borri as a replacement for Gila, XY(topstriker --Drogba, Ade, etc) for Ronaldo, and in addition Pato, Paloschi and a old but amusing Pippo. Would be really enough, or even more then enough for next season's attack.

MILAN - Congratulations to Alberto Gilardino and his partner Alice Bregoli. The small Ginevra was born today at 10.11, the first daughter of the couple. All the best wishes to the new dad and mum from all the Milanisti of the small child.

QUOTE (mishale @ Mar 2 2008, 04:25 PM) O.k, I will rephrase for you. Please, if there is still someone with a little sense in Milan, get rid of the flop. I think this also gives the same answer. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) We all know Milan are very loyal to their players. And it's cost us big time in the past. Instead of bringing in newer guys to help push the team forward, they've put faith in their existing players. Now we've got to a stage where the team is very old, and it's starting to really hurt us.. Is anybody in Milan has any sense, we'll see wholesale changes in the summer. But I don't think that''ll be the case.
