MILAN WILL BE THERE

Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani was the guest on a videochat organised by Gazzetta.it where he spoke about the transfter market

Adriano Galliani has been speaking to fans in Italy as a guest on a videochat hosted by Gazzetta.it where over 500 questions arrived for the Milan chief executive. A lot of them were about signing Massimo Oddo and Galliani said: 'I spoke to Claudio Lotito [Lazio president] and we have founded an agreement because the economic gap remains too high between what we offered and what they asked for. We will continue the negotiations as this is our only objective in January. Oddo remains 50% certain of joining us and if we don't buy a full-back in July.' As for David Beckham: 'There was the possibility of him coming to Milan but he's decided to go to Los Angeles. If he had of decided to stay in Europe he would have joined us but he decided on an American adventure.' Galliani also confirmed that an attacker would not be arriving in January: 'Cassano was an idea but each decision has to be agreed between the club and coach and in this case there wasn't any.

With Serie A returning on Sunday, Galliani looked ahead to the second part of the season and said: 'I think Palermo will finish third, ahead of us. It's difficult to recover 15 points in 20 games. We are going for fourth spot.' On Juve: 'The league has been improvished without them, we wish them back in Serie A soon.' Turning to Inter: 'They are really strong but Milan are at the same level.'

As for the club philosphy: 'We are more like Arsenal than Chelsea. We look to discover young players and new talent. We are paying in Italy in economic terms compared to Spain so that's why Zambrotta went to Barcelona and not Milan. This is why the top players haven't been coming to Serie A in recent years.
