MILAN WILL BE THERE

1/12/2007 7:37:00 PM

Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani was the guest on a videochat organised by Gazzetta.it where he spoke about the transfter market

Adriano Galliani has been speaking to fans in Italy as a guest on a videochat hosted by Gazzetta.it where over 500 questions arrived for the Milan chief executive. A lot of them were about signing Massimo Oddo and Galliani said: 'I spoke to Claudio Lotito [Lazio president] and we have founded an agreement because the economic gap remains too high between what we offered and what they asked for. We will continue the negotiations as this is our only objective in January. Oddo remains 50% certain of joining us and if we don't buy a full-back in July.' As for David Beckham: 'There was the possibility of him coming to Milan but he's decided to go to Los Angeles. If he had of decided to stay in Europe he would have joined us but he decided on an American adventure.' Galliani also confirmed that an attacker would not be arriving in January: 'Cassano was an idea but each decision has to be agreed between the club and coach and in this case there wasn't any.

With Serie A returning on Sunday, Galliani looked ahead to the second part of the season and said: 'I think Palermo will finish third, ahead of us. It's difficult to recover 15 points in 20 games. We are going for fourth spot.' On Juve: 'The league has been improvished without them, we wish them back in Serie A soon.' Turning to Inter: 'They are really strong but Milan are at the same level.'

As for the club philosphy: 'We are more like Arsenal than Chelsea. We look to discover young players and new talent. We are paying in Italy in economic terms compared to Spain so that's why Zambrotta went to Barcelona and not Milan. This is why the top players haven't been coming to Serie A in recent years.

Correction - not 500 questions but 5000 questions sent from people all over the world (offcourse he didn' t answer to all of them but only to about 25-30 choosen by the host). I've watched the whole 45 minutes of that videochat on Gazzetta (you can still watch it on the mediacenter section, but only if you understand italian). He told many interesting things, but many of you will be dissapointed - about our transfer market that is.

Actually he sad that we will become more like Arsenal than Chelsea not that we allready are like Arsenal. The translation from Italian to English caused some errors.

I guess I can't complain, but then he's not really made all the right noises about getting to Arsenal level then has he?

Where are the hot young people? Grimi? ok...Gourcuff? Ok...that's it.

Besides I don't see a system coming into place. No playing style nothing. Major confusing. It's all well and good to sit back and wish to be like Arsenal, we all like good things to happen, but you have to work towards that.

In other words he talks the talk, now show us he can walk it.

thanks Paolo that Galliani b1tch is only a liar... I don't want to end up like Arsenal. Their policy is just overdone... Wenger should stop already!

I dont think he means us being exactly like Arsenal ... He ment for us to be more like Arsenal than Chelsea; in a sense Arsenal got Cesc b4 he evolved into what he is, while Chelsea got Shevchenko and look at him now.

It is just the philosophy that he was talking about, not implementing their whole philosophy on Milan smile.gif Cuz I dont think Milan could adopt Arsenal's philosophy, considering where us fans want to see Milan; i.e. challenging for both Serie A and CL, as usual.

No were not Milan will be at third place and lazio at fourth devil.gif
