Why is Milan called (in other languages besides italian/english) "AC (Milano*)"
*Name of the city - Milano - but in the language we're talking.
For example, in Portugal I would say 75% of the newspapers call AC Milan, but the others call "AC Milão" (Milão = Milano in portuguese).
In German, once I saw in DSF, AC Mailand or something like this... I must say I hate this.
It's
MILAN! If it wasn't the club should be called AC Milano by the italians...
In bwin.com , our sponsor... on the portuguese version there's always "AC Milão" ...
I've sent an email, but I think nothing will change... what a stupidity. (IMG:

I guess it's quite normal that people refer to a club in their native language. If the city of Milano is called Mailand in Germany, well it's called like that. I don't like it too, I think Milan sounds much better AND it is the clubs name.
But you can't blame anyone for calling the club AC Milao or AC Mailand or whatever. I've also never heard anyone calling Bayern Muenchen Bayern Muenchen, it's Bayern Munich or whatever, so we're not the only ones having this kinda problem (IMG:
