I'll be frank now: I think Italy hasen't had such a bad generation of players for a long time, and the Serie A coaches nowdays are even worse. Allegri may have won that award...but I don't think any of the current Serie A coaches has it in him tu pull off some important thing for his club. 10-15 years ago we had Trapattoni, Lippi, Ancelotti, Eriksson and Capello plus coaches like Scala, Zaccheroni or Terim all. Nowdays, it's who?
Two of the last three Italian NT coaches were appointed without ever winning any important trophy, not the UEFA Cup, not the domestic league, cup or supercup, nothing. That I think means much. |
