What a Confederations Cup Luis Fabiano had. Top scorer and looked a world beater. Been prominent for the national team since Dunga's reign, with a quite frightening scoring rate. Didn't have maybe quite as brilliant a season for Sevilla last year, despite them finishing a sturdy 3rd, but no one would doubt his quality.

In today's silly market of Kaka going for 56M, C Ron costing 80M and Alonso 30 not to mention Santa Cruz for 18M, prices are insane, and a striker of Fabiano's quality would be worth 20-30M easily.

Yet Sevilla only wanted about 15-18M tops? And Milan refused to go higher than about 8M?

The Fabiano case is a curious one - a world class striker who's played at the highest levels and done well in them, including a fantastic Confeds Cup, yet Milan, a team not completely poor if not quite Man City refuse to pay what he's worth?

Refuse to pay anything more than about 8M?

And then a month or so later sign KJH for about 13M?

So, we wouldn't pay that money for Fabiano, but would for KJH.

I don't quite understand that.

Not really what I said bud (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

In fact, nothing like what I said (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

But I have no idea why BS recommends French women...

I don't think French women have anything to do with this. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

You did not say that you expected him to win the game on his own, no, but then what did you expect of him to bring this issue up after only one game?

He's on drugs again. That's why! He'll look at a picture of Samuel L Jackson and go, "Goddamn...Kate Winslet looks hot in that pic!", when he's that buzzed.

That was one time!

Stop swearing so much, what do you think you are? British?

I thought you only say bloody. And that does not even count.

I might be mistaken but we've had 3 games where he could feature? He was omitted from both the derby and the CL game, and started Livorno, making no impact.

For someone who cost 15M or whatever it was, our lack of faith in him thus far to actually deploy him regularly is curious.

I will stand partially corrected on that point if he starts on Sunday - however, his performance will be getting keenly scrutinised in that match,

I guess I just feel that 3 matches gone, he's made no impact on any level yet, and hasn't even started 2 of the 3 games he was available for.

I don't expect him to bring peace to the middle east, but he was our big signing in the summer and really hasn't had any influence at all yet.

No it couldn't - he was the difference against Siena. He's not been spectacular since then, but he has contributed something.

(and he's not my hero - why do people think I love the guy)

And what as he contributed? Because as far as I can see he is just another Rivaldo case. He had the chance to come here and ressurect his career but all he has shown is that he's more interested in partying than playing football. We don't need bad influences like him at Milan - especially in our current predicament.

All the above seems to have 100% erased last season in favour of scapegoating him as the reason the side's so rotten this year.

Please be so kind as to remind me what he actually did last season apart from goals against inter and portsmouth?

He was Serie A's best player till January this year. Do you honestly disagree he had a significant renaissance until Carlo dropped him?

tbh I can't really agree that something which could potentially hurt the club we love is worth laughing about. If you don't think his form is great, fair enough - but I wouldn't call it amusing because, by your logic, it's hurting the team.

I think you've totally misread my point which is fairly understandable seeing as he is your hero (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
And him being out of form isn't hurting the team it's benefitting the team as he's not playing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

That is in your opinion and not in general. Why do you think carlo dropped him? He wouldn't have dropped him if he'd been doing the business now, would he?

It seems to me that you need to remove the rose tinted spectacles (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

He's anything but my hero, and I think you know that. I just refuse to join this bandwagon of hatred for him. If that makes me his #1 fan, so be it.

I cannot understand why anyone would want any Milan player to be out of form.

Yes he would, just like he sold Gourcuff. Or do you implicitly trust Carlo Ancelotti and all the management he gave us over 8 years? So yes, he did drop him even when he was doing the business. And why? Because he had to accommodate Kaka, and the two could not play together. He ditched Ron, despite his form.

I suspect it's my lack of them which is causing this debate.

You always seem to stand up for him even when he's off form(the majority of the time?!?!)

I don't want any Milan player to be out of form, but he is so overrated by the likes of you it makes me laugh. Give me someone who is less skillfull but actually gives a f*ck over that one trick pony.

Oh silly me, I didn't realise carlo sold Gourcuff?!?! As much as carlo used to annoy me I realise the reason why he didn't play Gourcuff. And in all honesty would you bench Ricky over R80? If the answer is yes then there's really no point in debating as you honestly don't know what you're talking about.

Not true. I've criticised him plenty in the past. I guess you have to will injury on him to qualify for being a 'balanced critic' then?

Over rated? I'm hardly over rating him. I give him credit for his form in the first half of last year, then criticise his poor showings this season bar one match. Likes of me? If that's supposed to be an insult, it's not a very good one.

You know, people with your philosophies probably chastise MVB's management of using players based on form as opposed to name. The majority of the football world praised MVB's management when he upset the apple cart by selecting those who were producing on the park for their clubs at that moment in time. Big names were left out, and players like Heitinga and Van Der Vaart were used rather than Van Bommel and Makaay. That Dutch side did bloody well, routing Italy at one point. Only an electric Arshavin inspired Russia managed to get rid of them.

If I don't know what I am talking about, neither does Marco Van Basten.

This is not to say Kaka was horribly out of form, but under MVB's system, Ron would have kept his place till he lost form.

According to YOUR philosophies, given you know what you're talking about and I clearly don't, you play your best players, even when they're not in form - and you don't give a chance to anyone who's doing it on the pitch. A bit like Ronaldinho and Gourcouff.

Even Dunga is doing this with the Brazil national team - players out of form like Adriano, Ronaldo and our very own Ronaldinho aren't getting a look in with his team, and quite rightly so. Even Pato is struggling to get in. Why? Because Robinho, Kaka, Fabiano etc are doing it for their country - and they're successful. So why would you drop players in form and doing the business?

But, I don't know what I'm talking about. So there's no point debating with me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
