AC Milan have been urged to sign French striking sensation Karim Benzema by respected football agent Claudio Pasqualin.

The Rossoneri are really struggling in Serie A at the moment and are languishing in 12th position in the table, a gigantic 25 points behind league-leaders Inter.

A key reason for these struggles has been a lack of goals, with Milan only scoring three times at home this campaign.

Filippo Inzaghi has not scored in Serie A since January of this year, Alberto Gilardino has still failed to convince that he is capable to play at the highest level, while Ronaldo has made just one appearance this season due to injury.

This has led to reports that Milan may look to sign a striker during the January transfer window, and Pasqualin believes they should move for Lyon star Benzema.

"It's hard to find the right reinforcement for a team that does not need it,” Pasqualin said.

“The Frenchman, however, would increase the potential of any team."

The 20-year-old Benzema is widely regarded as one of the most explosive talents in European football and he is admired by a host of European giants, including Inter, Juventus, Arsenal and Real Madrid.

Milan Must Pay More Than £25m For Benzema – Lyon

AC Milan have been told by Lyon that they will have to cough up more than £25m if they want to sign explosive young striker Karim Benzema.

The 20-year-old hitman is one of the most wanted youngsters in the whole of Europe with a host of top European teams cueing up for his signature.
Milan are towards the front of this cue and according to the Gazzetta dello Sport have already begun transfer negotiations with his club Lyon.

However the French champions have told Rossoneri chiefs Ariedo Braida and Adriano Galliani that the £25m they are prepared to offer will not be enough to sign Benzema.

Milan are in desperate need of some forward reinforcements as Ronaldo has played just once this season due to injury, Filippo Inzaghi has not scored in Serie A for almost a year, while Alberto Gilardino has shown little sign that he is capable at starring at the very highest level.

One good sign for the European and World Champions is that teenage wonderkid Alexandre Pato will be eligible to make his debut for the club when Serie A resumes after the winter break on January 13.

It doesnt say in the article but in the news clip of this article on goal.com it says that lyon want 34 million euros for ths kid!!! I thaught 20 million was sufficiant but milan offered 25 to seal the deal, wich is nice to see milan splurge for once....but common 34 million....liverpool paid 30 million for torres and was much more proven then benzema, he was captain of athletico and came off a good performance in the world cup, benzema hasnt proven himself on such a big stage yet. This just goes to show how over priced lyon players are once again. if it were up to me id offer 20 million and throw a couple of the 8 players there lookin to offload at the end of the season anyway. might as well free us some salary cap and room on the bench.
