What did you do in Miami? After returning, you haven't missed any games.

"I had the luck to be in a good situation: a clinic specializing in shoulder problems, a place I liked that was far away from the polemics. Being there I recovered my head and legs, my body responded and I felt better."

You did like Maldini in leaving the Azzurri.

"Certainly being able to rest has helped me. My body hasn't allowed me to do more, and honestly I couldn't continue to do two things (Milan and the Azzurri) at the same time. I was always exhausted at the end of the season, it was a signal."

You seem like the perfect heir to Maldini.

"In one thing we're very different: I won't have his longevity. He's got something more than others: his head. Paolo is an ox, he never gives up, he still likes to train and play. I don't think that I'll still be the same in four or five years."

What sort of Milan-Juve will it be?

"A great occasion to move up in the table. And above all it won't be easy because Juve is a strong squad, they play and won't close up. It'll be a super game."

The scudetto for Milan is a utopia?

"Before considering the discussion closed, it's best to wait a bit."

Your favorite Milan-Juve games?

"The game form October 2005, when Pirlo scored on a free kick and we won 3-1 and the one from 2003 when Sheva and Inzaghi scored and we won 2-1."

The next Pallone d'oro from Milan?

"Pirlo. The result this year isn't his real position (nb, Pirlo finished fifth): he won more and did more, and aside from Kaka, is in fifth place against people who did worse than he did."
