Where's Viudez? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) If you could clarify, do we mean like in a dead heat sprint, or in an actual match situation when running up against defenders? Either way, my vote's with Seedorf. It's not the man, but the mind that needs to be fast!

Certainly Kaka for me. His speed does not show that much because of his height, he's a lightning bolt!

QUOTE (dst @ Feb 5 2009, 04:58 PM) Certainly Kaka for me. His speed does not show that much because of his height, he's a lightning bolt! True. He's the Milan Speedwagon! Our pace injection. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Pato has acceleration, and lots of it, but he struggles for ball control and is of a smaller stature than Kaka. For the time being it's Kaka who's the faster of the bunch, and that's what I voted for. If we go a few years back, I think Kaka can't touch a Paolo in his peak (late 80s), when Maldini used to make those sweeping runs all the way from the back on the left flank. I also remember hearing Ronaldo (R99) was the fastest in the team while he was here. Can't doubt that, seeing as he had more muscle mass, and would have obviously been fastest in short 100m sprints. Maybe they had pasta bowls on the finish line, but still he was fast.

Certainly not! Surely in the past, he used to be one of the fastest player I've ever seen.

(IMG: style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Those 100m sprints, I heard a couple of players (I don't know who said it, maybe it was Paolo or someone else) say that the Ronaldo was losing weight, training hard, and was pretty much faster than his teammates at that time. This was of course in the summer of 2007 - before Pato. But I agree what R99 was about as fast as they came. I was watching some of his goals from 1996, when he was at his peak, and boy did he brush back defenders like something. Kaka, well you've got to look no farther than his solo Celtic goal in the San Siro in the CL 07. He ran half the pitch in less than 5 seconds! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) and believe me it's easier said than done, more so when you have the ball and opposing players/goalkeeper to look out for. He isn't quiet as fast as that now, though.

Whoever said anything about Ronaldo in training only did it to silence the journalists who were talking bull about his fitness. On the field he was not fast, not with Milan.

Depends what you mean by fastest? In a straight out sprint or in terms of football speed? Agbonlahor is the quickest player in the EPL in terms of speed, but Lennon is the quickest player in the league WITH the ball. So the quickest footballer for me is Lennon, the fastest person is Agbonlahor.
Never really thought of Ronaldo or Pato as fast, they've just got quick feet. Kaka' seems to be quite quick though!
On a somewhat related note, I remember reading that Dennis Rommedahl can run a 10.0 in the 100meters or something similar, now that's fast!
