I'll be here and watch it. Missed out on Schalke and Chelsea, so this is the one I'll watch.
Any live stream links are welcome, I somehow doubt any TV network will give a live transmission here.

He hasn't played yet in this pre-season right? We'd be really ****** if he's injured for the start of the season. And I really want to see Monto start in front of the defence, see how that works out. Insisting with Ambro at this point is fruitless

5-1, wow... before anyone says it's a friendly and results don't matter in friendlies... they DO. if we'd lost 2-1, or 3-1 I could understand, but this is too much. A bitter taste of what our wonderful management have made out of Milan. Traore, Mesbah, Constant, Acerbi, Muntari... no offense but it's a disgrace that some of them are supposed to be our XI this season. yes we've had a lot of crappy/average/mediocre players before but they were only substitutes to great ones. I'm not even hopeful this loss will act as a reality check for B&G, they've got their heads firmly in the sand. they're convinced our 1-0 win over Chelsea means we remain competitive FFS (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I don't get one thing, what's the point of playing one of the world's strongest teams in pre-season? they totally destroyed that small bit of self-confidence the team had gained in the previous games. I won't be surprised if from now on we'll see a different Milan in friendlies/season games. we've proved to be very fragile in terms of confidence under Allegri. as soon as a superior team crushes us, we seem to lose all confidence. if that happened with the likes of Nesta, Silva, Seedorf, Ibra, etc. what are we expecting now? next game see how Robinho misses a sitter or something and remember I told you so! And what's even more annoying is that we're waiting until the very last day of the transfer window to make our damn moves which won't be that good anyway. some panic buys that will take weeks or months to adopt to their new team and perform as expected.

I'm a little surprised no one saw this coming. I'm actually impressed we even scored a goal. Mourinho was always gonna put out his strongest side, while Allegri is still playing Lego with the squad at the moment.
I was expecting a 2 goal difference loss. So yes this one is excessive, but not entirely derailing. We had our best forward out, our best creator looking bored, our second/third string defence, and our main creative mid out.
We'll win nothing this year, that's a given (if we stay the way we are in the squad), but we won't be THIS bad. IMO, this was Madrid against Milan B.
That said, I do agree with Zed.D's point about confidence.

The things is this CB pairing is not only pretty slow, but none of them is a playmaking CB,or at least one that is good with the ball. So,we lost the ball a lot from silly passes from our CBs,and hey the fullbacks didn't do that better either.Their was a lack of communication between Abate and Flamini there..specially in the defence.Nocerino did well when he had the ball, and Ambrosini...well I didn't even notice he was playing.
Cassano will be an essential part of our team,so I say give him that pay raise or we're gonna lose yet another essential component. He can turn everything around with 1 touch.
We played against a high pressure Madrid, and we couldn't handle that pressure well at all...It's clear Allegri's work is still really really raw with the team,so I'll be looking to see the changes he will do.

Galliani: “Allegri made a mistake, I’m pissed!”QUOTE ADRIANO GALLIANI was reportedly angry with Allegri, saying Max simply blew it against Real Madrid.
The Real Madrid game was not just a meaningless pre-season game for Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani it appears as the chief executive was reportedly very angry after losing to Jose Mourinho’s side.
Milan were beaten badly on the pitch of the packed-Yankee Stadium in New York on Wednesday. Milan held on in the first half (1-1) despite being objectively the weaker team but conceded 4 goals in the 2nd half.
“Can you believe that? Nine changes, nine! The coach (Massimiliano Allegri) had made a serious mistake and I’m going to tell him that,” Adriano Galliani is quoted as saying to reporters after the match on today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport. “When you play against Real Madrid, you shouldn’t be thinking that way.
“We are in New York, in front of 60,000 people, full stadium; all eyes are on the game, millions of eyes on the TV. It’s not a friendly game against Solbiatese.” Other sources, including il Corriere dello Sport report reports what Galliani said is that “Milan are not Solbiatese.” He continued: “Mourinho made 9 changes? Have you seen Real’s bench? Kaka, Higuain, Xabi Alonso, Ramos, Albiol, Arbeloa. World champions.
“Nine changes shouldn’t be made. It was a mistake. I’m pissed off – write that down!” Galliani also said according to il Corriere dello Sport: “It was a lack of respect towards the fans and the crowd in an important stadium against an opponent of prestige … I don’t give a damn if Real Madrid made eleven changes.”
Galliani is definitely furious with coach Massimiliano Allegri and this could lead to a few things – perhaps even on the market though it’s unlikely since funds continue to be very very limited for the Rossoneri. source: Rossoneriblog

QUOTE Milan captain Massimo Ambrosini has admitted that his teammates are nervous going into the new season off the back of a heavy pre-season defeat to Real Madrid.
Los Blancos hit five past the Rossoneri this week, much to the frustration of Massimiliano Allegri and Adriano Galliani and Ambrosini admits that it is taking its toll on the much-changed outfit.
“We are sad because it was a bad impression, so it is normal to be nervous after a defeat like that,” the veteran told Milannews.it upon the team’s return to Italy today.
“It must be said that we’ve also played a team much stronger than us. This season, teams like Real are not at the same level as Milan, we are aware that we are one or two steps below these big clubs.
“At present, however, it is important for us to find the right spirit that this team will then have all season.
“This team is aware that times have changed because we have lost so many important players. This pre-season has helped us capture a greater awareness of this.
“I don’t know what the club are planning next in the market but they are right to focus on create the right atmosphere.
“The season is long, the results on the field will tell if this team has managed to become more of a team. We really want to start the season.”
“Kaka? I hope he didn’t change his mind after what he saw [laughs]. Seriously, Ricardo would be welcome, he is a good player who could lend a hand, let’s see what happens.”

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Aug 10 2012, 02:17 AM) Apparently Galliani was very angry to Allegri about our 5-1 loss to Madrid. All the major Italian sport papers are reporting it. "We're not Solbiatese. Nine changes is way too many, the coach made a mistake", were some of Galliani's words. This should be fun. (IMG: http://stratics.com/community/data/images/smilies/popcorn.gif) Lol this is too funny. For once Allegri is not at fault. It's so rich coming from Galliani, what does he expect? We played a dismantled squad against Madrid superstar team, they make changes and guys like Kaka and Higuain come in, we make a change and Traore comes in (IMG: style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

God...talk of the misinterpretation here.
Galliani is pissed because, there were a whole lot of fans there and media, and they had come in expecting a great spectacle. Instead he feels Max Allegri used it as a training ground exercise with multiple subs etc...when he feels they should instead have been trying to make a hard fight out of it.
Don't forget it was being marketed as a meeting of two high profile clubs (to rival Barca vs Man Utd also happening), and instead it turned out to be a walkover.
In the first half, they were the stronger side, but we were still holding our own. In the second half, we fell apart. Why? Obviously coz our second string is nowhere as good as Madrid's. I don't think all the subs were particularly necessary.
Perhaps Galliani even felt that Allegri was trying to 'show-up' obvious weaknesses in the team as a passive-aggresive protest.
Either way, now we know that we need to step up and that there is a definite gulf in class.

I was pissed at the result too, but tell me it's not easier to take a defeat like this in a pre-season friendly than in a CL quarter final. I think playing against one of the world's top 3 strongest teams with our crappy, crippled team was a mistake in the first place and Gllainai is at fault before anyone else. he better do his own business which was supposed to be adding a few good players to the team (I'm not gonna say "champions" even though that's what he said). and his angry interview isn't going to help the team in any way, it'll only put extra pressure on them and Allegri. another mistake from Baldy.

A friendly, in Italy I can understand. This is a 60,000 packed stadium in NEW YORK. Definitely having US media coverage, lots of money but some place the football market has not been able to break. And Real Madrid vs. AC Milan is never 'just a light' training match. That's why you face Olympia and all those other clubs, so Allegri can try out all the various tactics they want. This is mostly to sell high-level European competition to the US audience and losing 5-1 does not do that. I think we are worse off than Madrid, absolutely. But we are NOT 5-1 worse, if you know what I mean.

QUOTE (TriniKing_CE @ Aug 10 2012, 08:22 PM) We could have lost by a wayyy bigger margin on that night. We could have, if we had proceeded to keep putting in our weaker players on. NOBODY is denying that if 23 players of Madrid stacked up, the 23 players of Milan are 3 levels below. But the first XI is still IMO only about 30% worse than theirs. Provided we play smart. I don't think Galliani would have been pissed about a 2-1 or a 3-1 defeat. 5-1 was a mite too much. But its' not the end of the world, and it would be stupid to blame Max. We just need to move on, and work on the transfer market. Scudetto challenge is paramount otherwise we risk undoing all we've done.

It's not the scoreline Galliani is pissed off, it's the attitude from the coach. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) Agree with your bit about that this was no ordinary 'friendly' match. No offense intended, but labeling it as inconsequential is pretty laughable - just ask the fans around the world who wait years and years, and then travel and spend money to watch the show. And like I said, this kind of a showing does not reflect good on us. Neither the 5-1 drubbing, nor the 9 subs that were made, or Cassano's walk in the park attitude, it just gives the wrong message to our sponsors. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) They'll just decrease the amount they pay us next time, or cut off ties altogether. Hence Galliani's anger.

Guys like Cassano, if they get out of control during a season, can bring down the house. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) There have been many such prima donnas in clubs over the years - the big ones had backup, while the smaller ones usually dispose off them the first chance they get. I really hope he boards the right train before the season starts, Cassano. He's always been a peripatetic (wandering from club to club, without definition or purpose), but now he's turning out into a major liability, one that will become hard to manage and could have a negative effect on our season.

Agreed, but in his own right he has not done badly for us so far, and his request for an improved contract could very well be his last chance on the same. So although I dont find a single flaw in your post, I just cant shake off the notion that he is looking over his personal interests as is Milan. Who knows, maybe a 1M or 0.5M increase could make the difference and turn Cassano's motivation indicators to an all time high? Afterall all, most forwards reach their prime in his age bracket. However, if he expects us to tamper with the wage-cap to satisfy him, then he can go **** himself.

This might be the most unpopular opinion on the forum but I think Galliani is absolutely right. $h!tlegri simply does not understand how to coach a BIG CLUB ^Granted, the term "big club" should no longer be used in the same sentence as us given the woeful quality of our squad. The GAPING HOLES (no homo) are there for all to see and everyone and their dog knows that we need a CDM who can pass, a LB (been missing since Maldini/Serginho), and either a competent RB or a technically sound CM/CAM who can assist with supply to the forwards. BUT to go to the f**king USA and lose by such a margin in front of an international fanbase is completely unacceptable. I laugh hysterically at anyone who thinks this defeat could have been worse (IMG: style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) q: How many cr@p clubs has Milan, Barca, Real etc played and failed to defeat them? a: a LOT!! q: How did the cr@p clubs do it? a: Lots of defending + sticking to good tactics$h!tlegri is responsible for the bold part and it's clear that they weren't right....subbing in our fodder to get burnt in the fire of Real's attack (further) exposes our weakness and until Milan find some way of getting back on our feet this does not help our situation....it hurts....a LOT! If you were a player thinking of coming to a big club and saw Milan get utterly thrashed by Real....would you feel to come? $h!tlegri is just making Galliani's job harder. It becomes a vicious cycle. It's like you're going through real tough economic times, but you're on your way to a business conference to try getting some investors, but your wife wears her oldest most dingy dress, your kids keep stuffing the refreshments in their pockets and your dog walks in and inhales deeply so everyone can see his ribs (IMG: style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Sure the situation might not be ideal at home and much of it might be your fault but they're definitely not helping the situation. Please understand that I don't think: 1) We're fine as we are (not even Galliani thinks that) 2) We're anywhere near Real's level 3) We're not in for a world of disappointment

(IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Show his worth this season and earn a new extension with a higher wage, how hard is that. For me, Milan giving up now would just stroke his ego to no ends, but if you believe it's worth a try, then I can understand that. I won't be against it. In the end, the management will decide what's best. What if after earning a new extension we are treated to the same old, same old by Cassano. Bad boy that he is, he (and his agent) knows that he is practically the biggest fish in the pond. Even though he's not the face of the club - Pato is - the guy knows he can out-muscle the management. Like I said, the best bet would have been both parties agreeing to a wage increase at the end of the season, depending on Cassano's performance output. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) This coming from him now, is practically blackmailing. It's not that he's got a long contract, pull in the numbers in the next few months and earn the right to an upgraded extension.
