I vote Torres. Ibra failed big time and I don't like how selfish he is. He likes to play around with the ball when he has/has the chance to pass. He likes to do fancy stuff when it's really not nessecary. He scored only 7 goals last season for Juve with all those great players playing behind him. Torres on the other hand had his worst seasons with Atletico and still managed to score 12 goals in the La Liga. He also had a lot of assists(forgot how many). He is the Atletico captain and he is the one making things happen for them. I watched almost all of the Atletico games last year just because of him and he was a delight to watch. He doesn't have great players behind him, so instead, he creates chances for himslef. God knows how many times I saw him coming back to their own half, get the ball and run past almost the 5 or 6 players. His speed is out of this world. We NEED that speed. If he comes to Milan, his partnership with kaka will be something special! They have a similar style of playing it would be wonderful to watch these two great talents play together along with Gila. Ibra on the other hand is a very different player and I would only welcome him if we couldn't get Torres and if he is willing to change his attitude. He needs to become a team player first! Like Gila! I still can't forget what Gila did in the game against Fenerbahce in which Sheva scored 4 goals. Someone (Serginho I think) passed the ball from the left flank and Gila had the easiest task for scoring it, instead, he saw Sheva besides him and decided to let him score. It brings tears to my eyes! I've seen Torres play (thanks to dst) yeah he's got skills, but he's not the target man we are looking for...he's one of those silken types...Ibra is big and strong can deal with some rough handling.
Spanish Primera is not as physical as Serie A...there's just too much money involved to make the risk...effectively we are paying more than what we earned for Judas to get Torres and if he flops...Milan is screwed

Tricks don't win games but goals do and Ibra is not prolific enough for me (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

QUOTE (I_Rossoneri @ Jul 29 2006, 10:32 PM) We can play Gila as target man, we don't need a trick pony. We also need someone who doesn't look amateurish in front of goal - we need someone to score and Ibra is not that man. if you wonna come up with the advantages and disadvantages of each one then remember to check that Torres is so weak for Serie A that will be out on the first blow ... La Liga is a much different league. It's definetely easier to score there; I'm not saying Torres is not a good player but the number of strikers that make it in Italy is very limited!!!! edit: ... and what Portugal wrote above too!!! I would definetely prefer Torres. He's obviously one of the most talented young strikers in the world (besides ROOOONEY and Podolski). He has much more to offer than Ibra. Torres has the discipline it needs to become a great player, he's got the skills, and I don't think physical strength will be a problenm for him guys.

I don't get Ibras advantages... Is it his attitude? The fact that he played a great season with Juventus, or his outstanding performance in the WC?

Spot on. Actually guys, as I've said before, even though I'd rather have Ibra than Torres I don't really like them and my strategy would be completely different; Right now I'd spend those bloody millions on Diarra/Mascherano, I'd buy another young CB and LB, Nelson as a RB and maybe Oddo too!!! I'd play the victorious Xtree and I'd give everything (I mean EVERY LITTLE THING) to seal a deal with Barca for Messi - not for now maybe even in two years it would be great.Maybe some of you think of this as a bad policy but the V Xtree rocks - it's not anything temporary - plus we'll have to try really hard to lose the scudetto seeing as our only real contender is Inter ... I justed looked the facts up. Ibra had one poor assist in the CL while Torres had none. So Ibra really has more assists...but hey...it's just one...

QUOTE (dst @ Jul 29 2006, 10:04 PM) Oh oh...did I mention the so called box striker Miroslav Klose had 14 (!) assists last season? This is btw more than the "Best football player in the world" Ronaldinho had (only 7)

QUOTE (GULLIVER @ Jul 30 2006, 12:15 PM) Torres? He is a kid, who used to score easy goals. Nothing special!!! Zlatan, can score and he would be a great partner with Gila and Kaka. He's a damn talented kid I'd say. Ibra is a wa overestimated player on the other end. He just had one good season with Juve, that's all. Oh..and yes, Zlatan can score... but only 9 times a season (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

QUOTE (Portugal @ Jul 30 2006, 08:47 AM) That's not true. Capello, on the latest years always plays with 2 fowards... 1 goalscorer and the other one, more tecnical player that can assist, hold on the ball, pass, shot, and score. Well, Del Piero played that role too and even though he played A LOT LESS than Ibra, he managed to score more goals. QUOTE (GULLIVER @ Jul 30 2006, 10:11 PM) Yap, Klose would be the much better addition to Gila and Pippo... And to you portugal, you're right about what you said about that other striker type we need. Still I'd wish that other striker, whoever he is, would score a little more often than 9 times a season, and I think Torres is the guy that can do that.
