QUOTE Capello pushes Eto'o to Milan
With Real Madrid about to win La Liga, it’s more likely Milan will pounce for Barcelona’s Samuel Eto’o.
The Rossoneri have made no secret of their interest in the Cameroon international and his time at the Nou Camp could well be up after the disappointment of this season.
With the title seemingly safe a few weeks ago, the Blaugrana have frittered away their lead and last night’s 2-2 draw with Espanyol has put Fabio Capello’s Real Madrid in pole position.
“We had to fight back for this result and to do so I saw a great team spirit,†said the former Juventus boss after their 2-2 with Zaragoza.
“Now we need concentration, as we have not won the title yet, but we can do it.â€
Having also failed in the Champions League, Barcelona look ready for a clear-out in their squad and the first to go could be Eto’o.
Also a target for Inter, the 26-year-old African star would be available for around £20m, although other players may be included in an exchange for Barca teammate Gianluca Zambrotta.
The Rossoneri have confirmed they are seeking a new striker for the summer and Coach Carlo Ancelotti named both Eto’o and Thierry Henry in a recent Press conference

Explain the relevance of the title. It's not Capello's fault Barca aren't playing well...

"Today there's a meeting between Eto'o and some Milan agents to make the first contact. 6M/euros per season are ready for him"Do you really believe in this? It was his agent who said he's not leaving Barcelona. If he was really leaving who think his agent would keep quiet? (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) He could have said something like "Yes, maybe... it's a possibility." But no. He exactly said "No. He's staying in Barcelona. He's very happy in Catalonia." Guys... "1+1=2". Remember this. He's not our real target. PS: My maths can be wrong. While I personally would prefer Eto'o over Ronaldinho, I'm not too sure about the article. Tuttomercatoweb is sometimes rather fanciful in what it reports. If Gazzetta were to have published it, I'd be a lot more optimistic. [Edit: There IS an article in Gazzetta about meetings between Eto'o's agent and Milan directors and the sum 40 million euros was mentioned. link].
