Shevchenko QUOTE Galliani: We're Ready To Take Shevchenko Back The Milan vice-President admitted that the Rossoneri are trying to lure back the Ukrainian forward from Chelsea.
Adriano Galliani has officially launched the transfer race to sign back Andriy Shevchenko as he was present during an Italian television program, 'Lunedi di Rigore'.
"We're ready to sign him back," admitted the Rossoneri's vice-President. "But at determined economic conditions. The squad, next season, will be the same one like this year, maybe a striker and a midfielder will arrive.
"The eventual arrival of a striker, who will be a great striker, will not make Gilardino lose his place."
Galliani also commented Carlo Ancelotti's decision of considering the Italian national team job after the 2010.
"It's an idea that we have already agreed with the same Carlo.
"However, we never thought of changing the coach: the club had the merit of staying calm and serene even in the moments of difficulty," concluded Galliani before ultimately denying that Ronaldinho could join the Rossoneri, because "he is not for sale." Goal.com

Some of the less reliable football sources in Italy are saying that the mystery man is Steven Gerrard.

I don't really put much faith in the Gerrard rumor either. Found it mildly interesting that the Italian press would pluck that particular name out of the air, though.
As for Shevchenko, I really hope he doesn't return. I don't think it would be good for the team.

QUOTE (aLbErTo @ May 29 2007, 02:12 PM) haha, no chance for grerrard in my opinion, although l'pools chief already said he doesn't belive his team can compete well in the next season but has no purpose of injecting money for rafa...i don't know but i really think sheva will come back, that would be great for both, him and milan... I wouldn't be so sure. He was pretty much a Chelsea player after they won in Istanbul. He was persuaded at the last minute to re-sign for Liverpool, he signed a contract before Athens (He thought they were going to win, and the board promised Rafa plenty of money.) We all know that they didn't win, now Rafa's arguining with the new co-owners over the money. Liverpool isn't the best place to be at the moment, maybe he's sick of it?
