QUOTE (Porty @ Apr 29 2007, 05:11 PM)
Holland:

PSV champ by +1 goal over Ajax.  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Portugal:

Porto derby: Boavista 2-1 FCPorto (Poor match by Quaresma and co. Match of the season for Boavista)

Lisbon derby: Benfica 1-1 Sporting (Benfica played without Luisao and Simao...  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Even with that they got a draw. Sporting was better IMO.)

1. FCPorto 62p
2. Sporting 59
3. Benfica 58

With 3 matches to play... and it will end like this. Porto champ, Sporting straight do the CL, Benfica to the CL 3rd pre.

ya i freaked out when i herd the score, i wanted ajax but i dint mind if az won it it and really all i wanted was any team but PSV to win ...

QUOTE (mishale @ Apr 30 2007, 02:40 PM)
Me too.

It's a cruel system. A championship game would be much more fair
*

A championship game meaning, the top 3 or 4 teams going into a play off sort of thing right?

I personally don't agree with that. If a team has been amazing for the entire season and is in first and the ones behind him are far off by more then 10 points then I can't see how it could be more fair.

If you are referring to the fact of deciding a league on goal difference when points are level then I would totally agree with you

No. If two teams end the league with the same amount of points then they should decide who wins the title in a game between them and not on goal difference

Oh then certainly that would be a much better idea then the goal difference thing.

I think it's still like that in Serie A (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Simao Sabrosa, Benfica's captain and winger, was under cirurgy today. Knee problems.
He'll miss the rest of the season... obviously. Too bad. He's the best player in the League.

Yup. Porto and Sporting straight to group stage. Benfica to the 3rd pre-CL.

So now it's like this the table of the Championships:

-Benfica 31
-Porto 22
-Sporting 18

Simão Sabrosa from Benfica was the bwinLIGA (Portuguese League) Player of the Year.

The prize was given by the Portuguese League, in a votation of all the coaches in League 1 who chose who was the best.

1. Simão Sabrosa [SL Benfica]
2. Quaresma [FC Porto]
3. Moutinho [Sporting]
