Ok...short one then
Dida (5): And I'm presuming the goal was Bonera's fault. He looked like he was somewhere else all the time. Maybe I'm being harsh, but I just came off watching Petr Cech againt lowly Portsmouth, and he was brilliant. So in ohjter words, Dida sucked.
Oddo(7): It was a good match from him. The goal was superb. And his defending was also very nice. Lack of pace, but I don't think he's that kinda player.
Simic(6): It's hard to find fault with Simic's performance, keeping in mind his abilities. He's not really got the build or physique of a tackler. But he made up for it as best he could, trying to cut down space, and intercept passes.
Janku(6.88999): Plz bring Sergio back. Janku belongs as a mid, where his shooting and advancing can be a threat, and he can break attacks coming down the flank. It's obvious he seems a little confused between going forward and staying back. He played a very good match though
Bonera(7.5): Top dog once again, even IF the goal was his fault(big IF). Simic can't tackle, so that responsibilty fell to him. He correctly guessed that Dida had his head stuck up his own @$$ and after that made sure Dida didn't have much work to do.
Pirlo(6.5): I saw glimpses of Andy, just like I saw glimpses of Ronaldo. There was that horrendous blooper of his, when the ball just passed between him, but his passes were mostly accurate. But in all honesty he failed in his role as a DECISIVE playmaker. He was more of a linkup. I keep saying we need one more holdive mid fielder.
Brocchi(6.5): He's a trier. But that was all he seemed to be doing, until the last half an hour or so. He's good at linking up plays. Lacks the tackling instinct of Rino and the vision of Pirlo or the fluidity of Ambro. An in-between player, with an in-between game.
Rino(6.5): Snarled, growled, did his thing. He was forced to go forward a bit too much I thought.
Kaka(7.5): I'd say he tied for best player of the match. The only person who seemed to show some creativity on the field. However he had this habit of running himself into dead ends, and then finding himself stuck with no cover.
Gila(6): Classic poacher's goal. Really clever to assume the rebound and make the run. I would have given him a 7, if he'd shown a little more initiative to drop deep and make an attempt to hold the ball. I'm suspecting/hoping that forcing R99 to do this was what wore the big man down.
Ronaldo(6): Very ordinary game from Ronaldo. I saw glimpses of what he can do. But I also noticed one very important thing. Every thing he did on the field, once upon a time he used to do it three times faster. 3 times!!! Age doesn't slow you down that much!!! The chip was an excellent initiative, that lacked the finish. He looked by about the 50th minute like he needed CPR. I don't think he should be the one having to drop deep into midfield. I suspect two things...one, the injury's taken too much out of him. two, he's not gotten completely used to Serie A. The concept of triple teaming the attacker, is Italy-unique.
Subs: Favalli can't really be rated. Seedorf was cracking. Came on, settled things down and scored. Gr8 sub performance. Ambro also helped quieten things down a bit. He's looking more and more comfortable on the ball.

QUOTE (HasanHasanly @ Mar 3 2007, 10:47 PM) Here are teh rankings (out of 7): Dida - 6 - did several good saves, but didnt really have to work much. his mistake was awful though (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Simic - 5 - nothing spectacular, but i liked his shot at the goal. Did few stops, but nothing much. Bonera - 6 - did many world class tackles, and we should not blame him for the goal, it can happen to anyone (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Oddo - 6 - what a goooooooooaaaalllll, and pretty good tackles and assist too (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Yanku - 7 - this guy was amazing. he was everywhere, ran for every ball. Interceptions and passes were magnificent. Bravo! Gattuso - 4.5 - well he was not on the real Gattuso level. bad passes, and clear fouls. not the Gattuso we know. Seedorf - 6 - seems like he had some good rest. nice FK Zee! (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Pirlo - 5 - he is slowly getting back on track, but he can do more, a lot more! Really good passes, and a few mistakes. Kaka - 7 - great moves despite being marked all the time. magnificent passing with ronnie. and of course an unbelievable goal, that should have gone in, instead of a finish by Gila. At the first half, something was wrong with his dribbling, he let the ball move faster and further away from him, but in the second half he got better. Brocchi - 7 - goood moves, and very confident play. he rarely missed his chances to pass or dribble. Gila - 0 - i know a zero might be very harsh, even though he scored a goal, but he didnt really do anything that a normal forward would do. I mean he did not pass, he did not dribble, he did not help, he barely touched the ball, and when he did he immediately lost it. The goal was pure luck, because it was Kaka's goal. I mean if he couldnt have even put that in, probably Scuzzi would laugh his head off. Ronnie - 7 - great great great moves, dribbling, passes, assists. i begin to love the Kaka-Ronnie duet. He didnt score, but we should not expect much from him, he has to lose weight, he is too fat to even turn around. Nevertheless, great display! Sorry but I must strongly disagree with most of your ratings. Dida - 5 Simic - 6 Bonera - 7 (MOM) Oddo 7 Jankulovski - 6.5 Pirlo - 5.5 Gattuso - 6.5 Brocchi - 6.5 Kakà - 6.5 Ronaldo - 7 Gilardino - 6.5 That's more like it.

Besides the ratings, the most obvious thing I noticed was a lack of chemistry. I got some ideas about that, which I'll talk about later. Right now it's nearly 4 in the morning. I need my 40 winks.

Ronaldo inspires Milan to win
Ronaldo-inspired Milan continued their lengthy unbeaten run in Serie A with a 3-1 victory over Chievo at the San Siro on Saturday. The Rossoneri have not lost for 14 matches now and the win elevated them into fifth, level on points with fourth-placed Lazio, who face Reggina on Sunday.
Ronaldo was a threat throughout, and although he did not get on the scoresheet he departed to a standing ovation when he was replaced by Giuseppe Favalli in the dying moments after having done much to endear himself to the few fans who turned out on the night.
Milan had to come from behind before taking all three points against a Chievo side whose quality of play belied their lowly league standing. The visitors started brightly, as the Milan defence showed its cracks all too easily.
And Cheivo striker Sergio Pellissier was first to capitalise on one of those cracks on 17 minutes, when keeper Dida and Daniele Bonera were involved in a huge misunderstanding on the edge of the Milan penalty area. The pair both left the ball for each other to collect before both going for it at the same time. The ensuing collision was almost comical and the ball spilled to Pellissier, who was left with the simple task of stroking the ball into an empty net.
The San Siro took a deep breath and tried not to think the worst, although they need not have worried. Less than a quarter of an hour later, they were level after the otherwise ineffective Alberto Gilardino finished neatly past Enzo Squizzi. The Chievo keeper could only parry Kaka's deflected shot into the path of the Italy striker, and his dinked shot over Squizzi was first class.
January signing Massimo Oddo nearly broke the back of the same net after the break as Milan took the lead. A sweeter struck shot will not be seen this year at the San Siro, and Squizzi was left with no chance as Oddo unleashed his thunderbolt from the edge of the area.
Then, deep into injury time, substitute Clarence Seedorf fired home a free kick to complete the victory and very much keep alive coach Carlo Ancelotti's hopes of securing a Champions League spot.
Chievo had coach Gigi Del Neri sent off in the 36th minute, testament to their frustration at not being able to make a move up the table, and away from the drop zone.
