no goals from our strikers

Again. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Well as long as they keep coming , I'm not gonna split hairs, not the kind of season to be doing that.

I do wish though that between Oli,Gila,Pippo and Ron they could tally at least 50 goals this season. Doesn't look like it.

I don't think Milan played all that poorly. In fact with the exception of a few defensive lapses we dominated possession and (more importantly) when R99 came on we could've scored at least 2-3 more times.

More than anything else I was really encouraged with Ronaldo's play. I think it won't be as long as many think before he starts to show sustained periods of brilliance.

If the defense improves its play i don't see why Milan can't win each one of its remaining league games.

The problem with our defence was because they where playing as individuals. And for a defence to work well it needs to work as one unit.

Janku, apart from the goal was pretty bad, made a lot of bad passes and didn't really try to cross the ball as much as he could have

But agree with you on everything else you just said.

We're 2pts shy of 4th spot and if Palermo keep slipping up and we continue to improve we might just slip into the 3rd spot

What do you mean again? Our strikers have been very consistent this start of year.

Milan 2 - 0 Arezzo: Gila goal, Pippo goal
Milan 3 - 1 Reggina: Gila goal
Milan 2 - 2 Roma: Oli goal, Pippo goal
Milan 1 - 0 Parma: Pippo goal
Roma 3 - 1 Milan: Gila goal

Our attack's been doing great so far.

This probably is just a matter of coincidence and may not mean much of anything, but did anyone else notice Arrigo Sacchi in the stands with Berlusconi and Galliani?

No thanks...

He should be over with Milan (as a coach at least)!

And IMO, THAT Milan team made him what he is... MVB, Gullit AND Rijkard!?? Probably the most complete players (MVB and Rijkaard for sure) in their positions ever to step on the field!! MVB is the best forward of all times... that would be enough but if anyone needs more then we should start with Baresi and then.............................. It's cause we can't defend as a whole... nothing to do with fullbacks! Defending as a unit is more important than individual defence...

I highlighted the main problems in defense & midfield, which I think coincide with the reason we can't defend as a unit.

I think it does have to do with that partly (or even as I said, that we don't play 3 in defense) because if you have 2 wing-backs up the wrong end of the field, how can you expect 2 central defenders to cope with an opponents entire attack? Especially when we don't close down in midfield (where there are 3 in the centre but no-one out wide) and yes Oddo & Janku should be there but they don't seem to be. I think they would do better as part of 4 in midfield.

That's a case in Milan yes but I thought we were talking defence in general where playing with full-backs does not mean the goal is vulnerable if the team has worked on wrapping in...

My mistake.

Come on dst .. Arrigo Sacchi .. There has got to be room for him in ur heart (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

After all, it's Arrigo Sacchi the man himself (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif)

He had the best team in the world at his disposal, but still he is a great (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif)

I would welcome him as the perfect succesor (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Ohh no .. It's one thing having a 41 r old play for us .. It's another having a 60 yr old ... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Nahh .. I'd rather have him as a coach .. Why do u think otherwise ?! I mean after all, he's one of the most notable coachs that have coached Milan (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif)

He was Milan's coach... and I'd call him a successful one... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

But IMO he's part of Milan's history not future.
