Just few things that I saw from tv highlights:

-Kalac made some good saves but the first goal is inexcusable
-There was a penalty on Pippo in the begining of the game
-We had one real chance , and even that was from the corner

I'm very disappointed.
Considering Ancelotti played many 'good' players...
Inter also haver 10 pts, and are 2nd in their group!!
This shows how pathetic we are.
I bet I'll read in the next hours crap excuses, like that many are injured, so what!!! A team like Milan should have a good bench!!!
We drew the 'easiest' group in CL, and barely manage to win games!!
I think we should have drawn a difficult team, and then Galliani&Co would see how bad we really are!!!
Seriously, I'll expect we'll be knocked out right out, no matter who we will play. Even some Serie B club could knock us out, in this state we are.
I'm ashamed of Milan letting me down.

Milan win sparks Lille celebrations

LOSC Lille Métropole won 2-0 at AC Milan to progress to the knockout rounds of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history as runners-up to the Rossoneri in Group H.

Famous victory
Lille's hopes of qualifying had seemingly taken a fatal blow when they only drew 2-2 with RSC Anderlecht last time out, but the Belgian club did their French rivals a favour tonight by repeating that scoreline at home to AEK Athens FC when an away win would have rendered Lille’s famous victory meaningless. Peter Odemwingie and Kader Keita were on target for Claude Puel’s side, who showed more enterprise than their illustrious hosts from start to finish.

Odemwingie opener
Lille coach Claude Puel had urged his side not to come away from the match harbouring any regrets and with that in mind the French side started positively. Kader dispossessed Kakha Kaladze after just five minutes and teed up Odemwingie, who forced Zeljko Kalac into an instinctive save with a fierce strike from ten metres. But Kalac, deputising for the injured Dida, was not so sharp in dealing with Lille's next attack two minutes later. Mathieu Bodmer surprised him with a powerful shot from distance which the Australian could only palm one-handed into the path of Odemwingie, who volleyed in from close range.

Lille control
Having wrested the advantage, Lille were content to let Milan, minus the creative skills of substitute Kaká, come at them but, if anything, it was the away side who looked the more likely scorers. On 20 minutes they almost did when Odemwingie broke clear down the left only to see his shot repelled by Kalac, and midway through the half, the giant custodian was almost caught out for a second time when Keita chanced his arm from all of 30 metres. His low shot deflected off Kaladze and narrlowly wide of the far post.

Boriello appeal
Milan's clearest chance of a goal before the interval came when Yoann Gourcuff twisted and turned in the area before finding Marco Boriello who collapsed appealing for a penalty. Lille's attempts were more direct, such as a curling free-kick from Yohan Cabaye which Kalac tipped over the bar at full strength soon after. Despite the early second-half introductions of Clarence Seedorf and Kaká the Rossoneri struggled to cope with their well-organised opponents who threatened with every counterattack. Odemwingie was put clean through again by Keita’s exquisite pass in the 50th minute but shot straight at Kalac with the unmarked Bodmer screaming for the square pass.

Inzaghi chance
Odemwingie was almost punished for his miss when Filippo Inzaghi headed Gourcuff’s corner against the bar with an hour gone but the travelling supporters behind Grégory Malicki's goal found their voice as news of Anderlecht’s second goal filtered through - a collective voice became a roar when their side also took a two-goal lead on 67 minutes. The excellent Kader raced 40 metres with the ball, exchanged a one-two with Bodmer and delivered a cool finish with his right foot to put the win beyond doubt and a dramatic qualification within touching distance.

Festivities
On what proved to be the best night of European football in Lille's history, Cabaye even found the time to rattle a long shot off the bar before the festivities began.

Carlo slams selfish Rossoneri Wednesday 6 December, 2006

Carlo Ancelotti admits this was an “awful” Milan performance and urged his players to be more “altruistic”.

The Rossoneri stayed in the locker room for some time after the match with Vice-President Adriano Galliani for a crisis meeting following their worst performance of the season so far, a 2-0 Champions League defeat to Lille.

“We lost in the worst possible way – on home turf, when playing badly. It’s a habit we must not get into. The players know the way I feel about this and I expect an immediate reaction,” slammed the Coach.

“I think I have an excellent rapport with the squad and understand their difficulties, but it’s also important for everyone to act in a more altruistic manner.”

The San Siro giants have been struggling badly in Serie A and Europe this term, although the result did not change their qualification top of Group H.

“If Milan are what we saw tonight, then it’s total darkness, as we were awful. When a team isn’t working well, then clearly a lot of the responsibility falls to the Coach. I’m not backing away from that.”

The draw for the second phase is on Friday December 15 and Milan will face one of Barcelona, PSV Eindhoven, Real Madrid, Celtic or Porto.

“The team to avoid is Barcelona, especially considering how they played yesterday. Yet we were on level terms with Barca in the semi-finals last season. The winter break will be crucial, as it’ll allow us to get some of our injured players back and work on the form of others. We absolutely need this time out.”

Lille’s victory allowed them to leap into second place and qualify for the next phase, while a stunning late scissor-kick volley from Bruno Cirillo took AEK Athens to the UEFA Cup with their 2-2 draw against Anderlecht

I was reading through the posts and you guys made me laugh a bit (well the laughing was mostly at he way we played). Milan are known to n ot win matches they don't need to win, we didn't win the last 2 in the 02/03 season and neither did we win the last 2 of the 03/04 season. And I can't see why all of you where expecting something more from this especially considering the way we have been playing AND not even having to play for the first position since we already have won the group.

The players didn't even try to win it, they where't even running they where just walking around and when we had the ball just put in a few string of passes (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

We practically fielded our second squad, and we only came down to play this match because you have to honour the fixture.

It looked like they where going through a regular training sessiopn, everybody was taking it easy, even in the end of the match, nobody was even trying to hurry and take the free-kicks or corners, they were just jogging along to the corner flag, or taking a free kick that was in a good position shortly (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Kalac made some good save but their first goal was partly his fault and partly the fault of whoever it was that was supposed to be marking Lille's striker.

What I'm trying to say is, just don't get worked up over this match I think everyone here knew what was going to happen in the first place.
