Milan ponder Sereni swoop Saturday 25 November, 2006 Lazio’s Matteo Sereni is the latest goalkeeper to be linked with a January move to Italian giants Milan. The Rossoneri are expected to sign a new shot-stopper after Nelson Dida picked up a knee injury at AEK Athens in midweek. The Brazilian international will definitely be out for at least two months, but could also be sidelined for as many as four. With that in mind Milan are looking for a custodian and Sereni is a realistic target for a New Year loan move. Sereni, 31, is only a back-up at the Stadio Olimpico as Lazio boss Delio Rossi prefers veteran No 1 Angelo Peruzzi. The former Ipswich man would come with the added bonus of being eligible to play in the Champions League. Milan have also been paired with Livorno’s Marco Amelia, yet his use in the UEFA Cup this term means he wouldn’t be able to feature in Europe’s premier club competition.
