QUOTE (han2503 @ Oct 8 2006, 06:32 PM)
Just want to add, if we are going to try and go after any Ukrainian in the January transfer window, then Kalinichenko (is that how you spell it??) would be the one I would go after, he didn't play much last night cause he came on as a sub in the 2nd half, but man he is really talented, both his free-kicks made Buffon make a great save and he got into the game really quickly and made a graet impact, you could see what effect he had on Ukraine's midfield once he came on
*

He is talantad but very inconsistent. 1 good game = 3 bad games. He is not Milan class player at all IMO

Well I don't know much about him accept for his WC performances and the match against Italy, but I likes what I saw. Then again I don't follow the Ukrainian league so I have no idea about how consistant he is.

But since he would probably be bought to be a sub in our midfield, I don't think consistancy would be much of an issue

He plays in the russian league at Spartak.
I think we can find a better player even for a sub position. Preferable a young one like Gourcuff

At least now Gila has 15 days of time to reach his peak form and get ready for the Sampdoria match.

Yeah we're still waiting for that peak to come..

Yeah he was born in 82 he's like 24 or 25.

Lets hope he somehow develops in the next couple years. He's not really as young as he seems though.

Gila thanks Carletto

Alberto Gilardino could not hide his joy after scoring his first ever Champions League goal against Anderlecht. “I want to thank the Coach,” stated the striker.

The world champion had been struggling for form and was suffering a worrying goal drought.

However, he was on target in the derby with Inter before netting his first Champions goal in the final minutes of Wednesday’s match against the Belgian side.

“I’ve now scored two goals in two important games. I am happy because Milan played a great game, so my goal was just another reason to be satisfied,” said Gilardino to Milan Channel.

“Recently, everyone has been talking a lot and not all of what I heard was appropriate. But this is just the way football is.

“There are moments when everything goes well and you are lucky, while there are moments when everyone criticises you and you feel a lot of pressure,” continued the 24-year-old.

“However, I have the fortune of being part of a great team that cares for me. The Coach showed his trust in me and without that it would have been difficult to give my all.

“After the goal against Anderlecht I wanted to celebrate with the fans because they have always been great.

“They support us no matter what and last night’s victory was due to them as well,” said the ex-Parma man, who moved to the San Siro in 2005.

“It isn’t true that we are only motivated in the Champions League. Without the point deduction it would have been easier in the League, but we want to win points and fill in the gap.”
