QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Oct 26 2014, 09:32 AM) His violent reaction was out of line. The stupidity of the joke however is shocking as well. He could have just ignored him and drove off like De Rossi. Let's not try to excuse him destroying personal property and threatening someone because of a stupid joke

QUOTE (Danny @ Oct 26 2014, 10:28 AM) No one did? Saying that the guy shouldn't have made that joke in the first place because it's not right, etc is in a way excusing him. A joke is a joke, no matter how inappropriate, no need to do what he did, and not just with the tablet

No it isn't, it's saying the joke was out of line. The violence was too, but the reaction wasn't. QUOTE A joke is a joke, no matter how inappropriate, no need to do what he did, and not just with the tablet A joke is only a joke if the recipient takes it as one. As you said, Di Rossi didn't take it as one either. Anyway this is as pointless an argument as I've seen on here, and I've seen some really pointless arguments!

A joke is a joke, no matter how inappropriate, no need to do what he did, and not just with the tablet No need to do it - sure, agreed. But saying "a joke is a joke" is just a slogan, nothing more. Clearly the joke was stupid, offensive and inappropriate. So in the end, both parties showed immaturity.

Anyway this is as pointless an argument as I've seen on here, and I've seen some really pointless arguments! Well x-off brought this on here, you guys decided to turn this into a debate, just like when we vent in match threads and the Muntari obsessed comments start. It's obvious that it's going to start up a debate And for me a joke is still a joke, even if you don't take it well, there's no need to be a pr!ck about it. De Rossi didn't take it well either but he didn't get out of the car, smash his tablet and threaten the guy, talk about going OTT!
