Mesbah, I forgot about him. What an incredibly awful player.

Agreed. Enough of terrible free transfers draining our budget with their uselessness. If we need guys to be around for training then call up young guys. They can't be much worse than guys like Mesbah and they may actually benefit and grow into decent players. At the very least that will make them more valuable to sell/use as parts of swap deals.

Watching strasser yesterday has made me think that we should be giving our youth team a try. I'd rather call up cristante and others instead of playing with clowns like mesbah and traore

No need, because Mesbah and Traore are just fillers. They didn't play more then 90 minutes this season, so they're pretty irrelevant.

The problem is they bulk up our squad and weigh down our wage bill.

These guys need to be offloaded first thing in January before we even think about signing anyone

Look..for all we know they're probably brought in as favours for other clubs. Or we genuinely made a mistake. Not every single transfer can be Noce right.

I agree they need to be offloaded. And I prefer offloading Robinho if we must in summer. The position he occupies is too critical for a new player to just come in and replace without a problem. God forbid, we end up in January having to find a new formation/tactic again. We know how long it takes Max to come up with one that works. :-)

It breaks my heart, but for me Flamini is the one that should go.

Gabriel - Loan
Flamini- Permanent
Traore - Permanent
Mesbah - Permanent
Vila - Loan (though I feel wrong about this, since we haven't even seen him play)

Of course, Permanent or loan with option would be the same I imagine.

These are definite moves. All the rest if they moved, would require immediate replacements.

Yeah I agree, selling robinho without a proper replacement wouldn't be too smart.

According to Corriere dell Sport:

  • We've found an agreement about Romanian defender Chiriches, which includes a loan with purchase option of €7 million at the end of it;
  • Acerbi might be directly swapped with Kucka;
  • Robinho is valued €12 million by the club.

QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Dec 12 2012, 02:09 PM) *
Why do people have this misconception that City will sell for a cut price? They will absolutely not. City wanted 40m for Tevez, they got a 40m offer from Santos, but because it was in too many installments they said no. They will set a price for Balo and stick to it, that price will be something we can't afford.

Because at some point they may have to deal with FFP, and they are not going to accomplish that without reducing player wages, and that will not happen if they hold on to players that just worm the bench.

QUOTE
Manchester City announce huge losses for second year running. The Blues posted a deficit of €120m for the financial year ending May 2012, though this was significantly less than the €243m marked down for the previous 12 months.

Source = goal.com

So getting some money + a reduction in wages may look good to them at some point. OTOH, that does not mean that they will just cave in and accept a ridiculous offer.

On a related note, I would not trust anything said by Galliani (or any other executive at Milan or other teams) until the transfer season is over. Even if you are trying to offload a player, you probably still want to extract maximum value, which means you will set the price high and explain to everyone why you cannot afford to lose the player. Similarly, if you want to buy someone you may still claim that you are "fully covered" in the role, and getting a new player is unnecessary.

Finally, any reason "Winter Transfers 2013" is not "pinned"?

And that's all well and good, but as I said, they'll have more than just an offer from us on the table.

Is a player going to move for 20m on £100k a week to *insert big club* or free on £80k a week to Milan. I think both the player and Man City will pick one option, not us.

No idea. Apparently Chelsea are/were after him to replace Terry.

Berlusca: "We're trying to strengthen the team by signing young champions. I hope someone will come (in January, I presume). Robinho? I hope I can convince him to stay, he has class".

Galliani: "We will try to keep Robinho, although he has nostalgia of Brazil. We'll see..."

Yes, let's all try and keep the very useful and expensive Robinho. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

We have targeted 3-4 bright eyed broncos, but we don't wanna reveal their names as getting them may be a little tough if them crazy news agencies found out. We wouldn't want them ol' prices to go up neither"

Galliani: "Robinho has some offers from Brazil. We're in talks and we'll see what happens. He misses Brazil."

Santos vice president: the Robinho deal depends on Milan and claims "Milan are not interested in any of our players."

Robinho's father:

“Robinho will not leave Milan,”

“He does not want to deceive the fans of other clubs.

“The Rossoneri have already sold other strikers, so they will not let him leave too.

“These stories are only rumours – he will not move from Milan [in January]. I'm sure he will go to Santos in the summer.”

-Pablo Armero could make his move to milan. Galliani has offered cash (8m) + a youth player for his services.
