^^ No, it wouldn't. QUOTE (Dracoris @ Jul 18 2012, 05:42 AM) We sold Ibra and Silva because Finnivest is tired of having the 5th largest wage bill in ALL of SPORTS. We were spending 6.104 million PER PLAYER on average. This is a team that has gone (with IBRA and SILVA mind you) that went 1-4-5 against the TOP 5 of the Serie A last year. The last 2 years in the CL we went 4-5-3 in the group stages. 4-5-3!! In the last two years we went 1-2-3 in the knockout stages. That is freaking teribble. This is all while posting a loss of 69MIL EUROS.
This team was not a dynasty. Our Management gets it and they are restructuring this team to be successful. Galliani and Berlusconi have won 5 CL trophies, 6 Balon D Ors, plus however many Serie As. You want to tell me they just went stupid over night? No. In a team coached by Ancellotti with Kaka, Pirlo, Seedorf, Cafu, Maldini, Nesta, ETC we finished 5th in 2008. This team has needed this re-haul for a long time. This is a project and we should embrace it instead of whining about how our poor club is hitting the tubes when its actually doing exactly what needs to happen. We have needed a re-haul for a long time, I'm sure and I'm thankful it finally happened. personally my only problem is with Silva right now. I'm still not convinced selling him was right (so did Cesare Maldini so thinking that doesn't make me stupid I guess!). I read R7's posts, he couldn't convince me, I read yours, same. I'm going to read Jack Sparrow's rather large post now, see if he will convince me it was a genius move to cash in on our last great defender.

This is a project and we should embrace it instead of whining about how our poor club is hitting the tubes when its actually doing exactly what needs to happen. If it were a project, as you say, then Silva would not have been sold. This is not a project, in fact it's the opposite of that. It's the same thing we've been seeing for years now. A quick solution to cover the depths of that year. Next summer or the one after that it will be Pato or Boateng. You just watch. Had Ibra been the one sold, considering his massive wage and his age, then it would have been completely understandable, but that's not the case, we sold the best defender out there for a relatively low fee considering the money flying around from these play thing clubs. It was clearly a panic move. And this after assuring the fans that Silva would stay and even worse making the player sign a foney contract extension. These are clearly not the actions of people who have a "project" in mind, but the actions of people who have dug themselves into a massive sh!thole and don't have a single clue as to how to get out of it. The mistakes of the past have already been made. It's funny how the Galliani brigade is focusing on the wages of just 2 players, our only 2 star players might I add, who deserved the money they got, yet are choosing to ignore the fact that Rino, Flamini, Seedorf, Ambro, Zambro, etc were on massive wages. That is where the huge wage bill came from, not because of just 2 players, our only 2 valuable players who we've conveniently sold.

QUOTE ADRIANO GALLIANI says Milan will make a champion signing and says he’ll let Mattia Destro join Roma.
Galliani has been quiet for the past week but now that the sales of Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are behind him, the Milan Vice President is back answering questions and says a champion will arrive.
Milan fans are used to hearing lies from Galliani when it comes to the transfer market as they are still waiting for Mister X to arrive, but Uncle Fester says the summer is still very long and someone could come.
“There’s still time until the 31st of August. We will sign a champion,” Galliani, who had a dinner with Genoa President Enrico Preziosi last night, told Sky Sport 24 at his favourite restaurant. “[Roma's director of sport Walter] Sabatini called Preziosi, and I answered the phone. I told him that I will let him sign Mattia Destro.”
The ‘champion’ will probably be in attack as Milan are linked and set to meet the agents of Edin Dzeko, Carlos Tevez and Leandro Damiao over the week. One thing is sure though: Milan will not sign Destro. So we can now scratch Destro off the list.

Lol, Galliani at it again.
We'll probably sign someone on loan with an option to buy and say that he was the champion all along.
Ala the Mr. X and Aquilani.

QUOTE (Zed.D @ Jul 18 2012, 04:59 PM) See Jack? I bet that'll be the day we'll sign our "on loan with option to buy" champion. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Galliani acted so quickly to sell Silva and Ibra but he's always slow with his buys and that always puts us at a disadvantage. It takes time to negotiate deals man! How long did the Ibra, R80 deals take? You don't come in, put in the cash and walk off with a player. This isn't Football MAnager. Right now, we're probably still trying to assess who is available and how much can we put up.
