Let me give you a more clear picture of what i'm talking about.

Football is not a business where you can make a profit in. It doesn't matter at what level you operate at. I've worked at clubs where i've had 2k budgets, 10k budgets and even 50k budgets. You know what the common theme among them all is? The club has always taken a loss. Even in the most prudent circumstance where you cross every T and dot ever I (which is almost impossible as sh!t always happens), and make a profit, that profit will be used as an investment towards the club or paying back a small portion of shareholder's investments.

You never get back the money you put in, ever.




So lets ask the fundamental question. Why do people buy clubs? Why would Berlusconi, Agnelli, Morratti, Sheik mansour, abramovich etc... buy football clubs?


I'll tell you, it has nothing to do with money. Controlling a football club is essentially the same thing as controlling a group of people. You can impact people through sports far faster than you can impact them through politics. Berlusconi's a good example of this.

How many times through his years in polotics has he improved poll numbers through Milan alone? Its far more effective then Silvio going to a childrens hospital or bake sale.


Control. Thats why they do it. So don't give me that Silvio bought milan and funded it for all these years because he loves the club and its a part of him and all that bullsh*t. For him its always been a useful toy. A toy that would get him what he wants. Sure it has costed him over the years but it has benefited him greatly as well. 3 times in office and now hes making a 4th run.


If anyone loves the club its Galliani and thats why we are in this mess is because he loves the club and all the players.

When you start making business decisions from emotion and feelings instead of logic and experience, you begin to take losses, your business begins to decline. You learn that in business 101.


So lets look at Galliani's management skills in the last couple years.


Our squad in 05 was stronger or weaker than in 11? I would say it was alot stronger.


What should the average squad size be for a club? 25-26 at the most and the last couple spots should be filled with youth players. What has our average squad size been? 30 players +.


We can't afford a squad of champions? You consider gattuso, seedorf, inzaghi and co. champions? Especially gattuso at 4m euros. He didn't even f*ckin play.



We can afford a squad of champions if we don't waste money on washed up players. Ibra earns 9m a season. If we had sold flamini and Gattuso that would have paid for him. Silva earns 6m a year. If we had sold bonera and zambrotta that would have paid for him.




Its all in how you manage your business. You can run it like a f*ckin clown which galliani has done in the last 5 years or you can run it like a proper business like Bayern and others have.

You just missed the point:
1- Top clubs in Europe have two/three times our Revenue income.
2- We cant afford what Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, United can afford. Because of point 1. We couldn't afford to replace Gattuso, Seedorf, Nesta etc ... The notable reinforcements came in the form of Silva and Ibra at what price? We just cant afford it all like the rest of Europe's elite.
3- We are cutting our wage bill to be FFP compliant. You have to understand this part - I strongly recommend that you use the internet to help you better understand what it means to be FFP compliant.

On hindsight, you can criticize freely. I'm not bothered anymore tbh, simply because the club has changed direction a while ago.
