I'd much rather promote a youngster for that position than seeing a sadistic character like him. In my opinion, I don't think we'll sign either. Whats my reasoning? Look at both Sahin and De Jongs wages and is it really realistic for us? I have to say no, not with the current players earning what they do.


I think we'll sign someone unknown this summer. Someone with a lot of potential. A silva/pato like signing. Or we may already have (gabriel) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)


If you look at the trends over the years it makes sense.

I survived van Bommel whose p__ck-ness cannot be compared to De Jong's and even liked him. De Jong is more stupid and reckless than anything else, I don't think I'll have a problem with that. Then again van Bommel is also a relatively good player. So my problem lies with De Jong's abilities.

VB is still a much better player than De Jong, who has no redeemable qualities.

Many Milan fans thought they would just have to endure VB, but in the end, everyone got on his side and wanted him to stay, I can't see that happening with De Jong if he does come

Eh, but I still believe (and have always believed) Mark van Bommel to be talented and classy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) He can be sneaky at times and doesn't shy away from a tackle, but I have little to no respect for players who have no concern for injuring opponents. That's why I don't want to know what Flamini is doing right now, or whether he stays or plays.

Because once I can let go, but multiple two-footed tackles and dirty plays, you're into the red zone, pal. De Jong, for me, was born in the red zone. No I just can't agree. To me, van Bommel is a dirty player, de Jong is just stupid.

Still, going by your theory, De Jong is stupid enough to seriously injure anyone. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) I'd still pass the guy, and look elsewhere. Besides, while there is a pressing need for a good DM, I believe our immediate concern should be a quality and creative central midfielder, just behind our two forwards.

You mean a trequartista? In that case, Montolivo would be playing in front of the defense. I'm not too comfortable with that. I think we should go after someone like van Bommel, but with more vision and creative skills. Someone à la Xabi Alonso, just to be clear. And I think Strootman fits perfectly the bill. Not to mention he's young and cheap. Too bad rumors about him have died down since the Euro started.

Yeah that's another thing to note. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) I sure do hope the management know what it is doing, with the purchase of Montolivo (and potentially Aquilani). I really don't want to see another season of disjointed football when it comes to the attacking third. Agreed about Strootman, though, and the Ganso thing is also developing. Let's see.

But the thing I've learned is that anything can happen when it comes Milan and transfers. Anything.

Well, if we're getting Ganso, then we have to send Robinho to Santos in order to lower his price. In that case, we either promote El Shaarawy as fourth forward choice, or sign Destro. Although I read Ganso just recovered from his nth injury. Is he worth the gamble, considering our injury history as well?

I think it's worth a gamble considering Ganso will initially be low on wages. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Just like a lot of Brazilian talent we signed up in the past. That alone will go a long way in balancing out his cost price. Plus, throw in Robinho most definitely, seeing as Milan has told him to start packing his bags. Combine that with how Ganso has still not signed a new deal, and you've got a story cooking.

He's still unproven, yes, but the talent is there. Now, do we plan on harnessing that, or go for other European players with their high wage demands. Someone even with 4m salary is going to cost us double that. And well, 32m if he stays for a few years. So it all boils down to how much risk Galliani wants to take.

I don't doubt his talent, but his injury-proneness. And we're not exactly a suitable environment for an injury-prone player.
