If you ask me, Pato must stay at any cost.

Even if he'll spend another season out like this one? No, thanks.

At any cost for now. Pato should be our project; we must concentrate all possible forces to find a solution for him during the summer.

Two years ago, I would have agreed with your statement. But after witnessing the horror of this season, I just can't. Especially if we're to sign a top player like Tevez in his place.

There's not much to debate about the Pato issue. it all depends on whether we can finally put an end to his injuries. otherwise we'll have to part ways.

I'd give it one more and final season. if it still didn't work, I'd send him away for his own sake. maybe somewhere else they can do something about him.

yea we really neeed to sort out the overall injury situation this seasons was a real mess in terms of injuries... I mean we started the season with half the players out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

I was just thinking about the players that will most likely be heading out, and what our squad will look like come next week

The ones marked red are sure to leave, the ones in blue are most likely to leave but there's still a question mark about them, and the ones in green are still a maybe

Goal Keepers

1. M. Amelia
30. F. Roma
32. C. Abbiati

Defenders

5. P. Mexès
13. A. Nesta
19. G. Zambrotta
20. I. Abate
25. D. Bonera
33. Thiago Silva
52. M. Sciglio
76. M. Yepes
77. L. Antonini
15. D. Mesbah

Midfielders

4. M. van Bommel
8. G. Gattuso
10. C. Seedorf
14. S. Muntari
16. M. Flamini
18. A. Aquilani
22. A. Nocerino
23. M. Ambrosini
24. R. Strasser
27. K. Boateng
28. U. Emanuelson
37. A. Merkel

Forwards

7. Alexandre Pato
9. F. Inzaghi
11. Z. Ibrahimovic
21. M. López
70. Robinho
92. S. El Shaarawy
99. A. Cassano

So that's basically 3 defenders, one of them surely out, 6 midfielders with one of them also cartain to be gone come next season, and 2 strikers with one 99% likely to be out.

I only marked players red because we've gotten the confirmation already. Zambro, Pippo, Seedorf all pretty much have one foot out the door as well but I won't jump the gun on it.

The others are are very much in the air atm.

Ideally it really shouldn't be a squad of more than 25 or so players. Keeps the conflicts less and makes chemistry easier to build...so a quick count shows we still have 27 players (counting your blue ones).

A bit much I feel.

Is Muntari sure to stay on? Or are you guessing? Well I guess he will... not complaining.

Allegri's utter love and devosiong to Muntari will ensure that he stays, believe me, all I wanted to do was mark him with a big fat red, bolded and sized 7

I wouldn't count the blue ones, they're more likely to leave. I personally can't see Seedorf, Zambro and Pippo in next season's squad.

so that's more like 24 players. Add one or 2 who are green (Rino, Flamini and Aqui being favourites) and that could easily be a 21 or 22 man squad. Add the 14 player injury haul we usually have and we don't even have 11 players to put on the pitch (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Good news would be Rino getting a back room staff position. Bad news would be him staying on as a player

I think he wants to keep playing. If he doesn't stay with us, I can see him playing in Russia or the Emirates.

He should go an get a big pay day. I would if I were him. It's obvious that he's not up to the standard anymore, and none of the fans would be-grudge him the opportunity

I agree. Were I him I'd get one last big pay day and then, after I retire in 2-3 years, come back as an ambassador or assistant. I just hope he and the rest of the senators leave on amicable terms. They are all good people, it's just time to move on.

True enough, but I'm pretty sure he'll stay for another season.

By the way, Inzaghi just announced that he's also leaving.
