Did you guys see that sliding tackle he made in the second half? classic defending. they don't make them like this anymore.

Yeah, like Bauer said. One admires the Thiago Silva's of today, but watching Maldini, Costacurta and Nesta you can see what is missing. They do it like an art.

Does anyone know his status? I remember him limping off the field.

He trained yesterday, so nothing serious. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Nesta should be fine!

He should be wrapped in cotton for the big games until Thiago is back

True enough. But there aren't many big games, unless we progress onto the semis. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Barcelona return leg, and in the league inter plus maybe Fiorentina. But still, no point in risking him needlessly.

Nesta slams shut Juve door

(IMG:http://www.football-italia.net/sites/default/files/imagecache/main_photo/[type]/[nid]/nesta-v-barca490ai_2.jpg)

Milan veteran Alessandro Nesta has categorically ruled out the possibility of a summer move to rivals Juventus.

The centre-back has been paired with a Bosman switch to the Turin giants in a similar transfer which friend Andrea Pirlo made last year.

“We’ll have to see about my future,” the former Italian international told Milan Channel with just months left on his contract. “We’ll assess everything at the end of the season.

“I certainly won’t be joining Juventus, this is for sure,” he added. “Things will have to be evaluated once the campaigns ends.

“However, I want to make it clear that I’m not going to Juve. I don’t have an agent and if someone wants me then they have to talk to me direct.

“Nobody has been in touch with me, I have no need to go to Juve and they don’t need me – it’s not a problem.”

It’s unclear at this stage whether Nesta, one of 10 players at the club with expiring contracts, will be offered a new one-year deal.

The 36-year-old has played in just 12 Serie A games this term. He’s also featured in seven Champions League ties and one Coppa Italia match.

Nesta is going to hold a press conference on Thursday at 13.00 GMT. Could either be announcing his retirement or a move to MLS. There is no need for a conference if he were to extend his stay. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I feel he'll move to MLS. he's not at that point where he can't continue plying anymore. and those old injury problems are no more there...

And you know what, if he's doing it for the $$$, then it's OK with me. I wish he'd stay, but what's the difference, next season would be his last and we'll be at this point again.

It's time to think about the future. if only some of our other "senators" had the dignity to move on when it's time (I'm not saying Nesta's time at Milan is up but if he feels it is, who are we to disagree?)
