QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Feb 13 2011, 10:16 AM) Once we had a "our own quotes of the week" topic. This would be my choice. This would be everyone's choice... on Milanfan. Try and define Xenophobia on Google and it directs you to these forums! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

QUOTE (Milan Are Brilliant @ Feb 13 2011, 03:26 PM) This would be everyone's choice... on Milanfan. Not mine. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) English team is no where near as bad/weak as people make it out to be. In fact, for a moment there in the World Cup 2002 (the match against Brazil), I pretty much thought they had a great chance to win the thing. I am not a fan, no way near, but even last year in the match against Germany I was rooting for England so that they can meet Maradona. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) As a coach, I know, but still that would have been a clash of the decade. QUOTE (Milan Are Brilliant @ Feb 13 2011, 03:26 PM) Try and define Xenophobia on Google and it directs you to these forums! I liked the above sentence better before (without the tongue smiley). (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) It had a nice ring to it. Boy, am I quick or am I quick!?

I wasn't sure if people knew I was joking or not and that I actually took offence! I mean don't India have to qualify, to be able to enter qualification group stages for the World Cup? QUOTE (Jack Sparrow @ Feb 13 2011, 11:17 AM) Kevin Pietersen>>>>>>>Rio Ferdinand. He's South African anyway, like half of our cricket team. Gattuso > Xavi/Iniesta/Messi. Time to slice Spurs apart like that.

QUOTE (Fishdoll @ Feb 13 2011, 03:29 PM) One note on the game other than a general fins up-- not sure if anyone else noticed but I do think that was the first time Nesta wore the captain's armband for Milan. Yep, I've noticed it. And it looked good on him.

Tottenham thread (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ,come on 2 more days for the match. QUOTE Milan received a boost with confirmation Gareth Bale is out of Tuesday’s Champions League meeting with Tottenham.
The Welsh wizard has been a key figure in Spurs’ European campaign so far, scoring a hat-trick against Inter.
However, manager Harry Redknapp confirmed that Bale will not recover from a back injury in time for Tuesday’s game.
Bale already missed today’s 2-1 win at Sunderland and does not hold out much hope of even making the trip to San Siro.
"Gareth is not too far away. He's not going to be fit, I don't think, for Tuesday, but he's not too bad," Redknapp told Sky Sports.
"The specialists have seen it, he's had an epidural injection. Peter Crouch has had the same problem and he is fine - in fact, his back looked a lot worse on the scan.
"He shouldn't be too long, but Tuesday may be just a bit too soon for him.
"You saw what Gareth did against Inter Milan, when he terrorised them, really, and that would be in their minds an awful lot, I'm sure, if you asked them.
"Everybody in Italy talks about Bale - I went over and watched a game and everyone was asking me: 'Is Bale fit? Is Bale fit?' He would scare them to death, for sure."
Milan have their fair share of problems too, as Andrea Pirlo and Massimo Ambrosini are both out for six weeks.
Antonio Cassano, Urby Emanuelson and Mark Van Bommel are cup-tied, while the injury list includes Kevin-Prince Boateng, Gianluca Zambrotta, Pippo Inzaghi, Nicola Legrottaglie, Daniele Bonera and Ignazio Abate.Prince Boateng, Gianluca Zambrotta, Pippo Inzaghi, Nicola Legrottaglie, Daniele Bonera and Ignazio Abate. Bale won't be back for the match...and I'm just waiting for kurt to comment on what Harry Redknapp said (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) .

QUOTE (han2503 @ Feb 13 2011, 12:15 PM) Also another thing, Oddo can be so frustrating with his virtical balls, but having said that, defensively he's been top quality imo, nothing goes past him, Abate is better when going forward but all his defensive frailties would have cost us against a team like Spurs, so I'm glad he's out, and at this point Oddo is a definative starter for me, especially since he seems to have cut out the ridiculous long balls. I think Allegri gave him a talking to after the Genoa game Well, Abate will be available for Tottenham, and I think Allegri will play him. I'd still take him over Oddo any day.

I would also play Abate vs Spurs if possible. I am pleased with Oddo this season, but unlike others I am more than pleased with Abate as right-back. Also: several pages ago in this thread I was rather harsh in some statements directed toward Chu-Lip. I regret not having expressed myself more diplomatically and apologize if any feelings were hurt. Apologies accepted. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Interesting Nesta wearing the captain's armbad. Never expected him to do so considering his promise to the Lazio fans. And of course it looks good on him. He would be my choice for captaincy, if anything.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Feb 13 2011, 05:14 PM) Well, Abate will be available for Tottenham, and I think Allegri will play him. I'd still take him over Oddo any day. Never. Oddo is by far better for our defensive line. Almost nothing gets past him. But...Abate is a midfielder (even if a RM)...why couldn't we play him finally in his natural position, since we don't have many midfielders anyway?
