QUOTE (il_diavolo_mtl @ Jan 12 2011, 06:00 AM) I have watched your EPL and must say i'm surprised this doesn't happen more, most of the stadiums place the first row inches from the actual field while in some stadiums in italy, the players are caged in. It didn't actually happen in the EPL. There's a general premise of no-one is allowed on the pitch, yet if it's a unexpected cup victory it seems to be ok for them to do so, this should be a reason as to why under no circumstances fans should be allowed on the pitch. As for the guy, yeah great way to protect your honour, punch someone when they're not looking then run away, really heroic stuff.

QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Jan 12 2011, 07:12 AM) We had a pitch invasion when we made the Cup Final last season, not sure why people feel the need to run on. Same when Birmingham beat you. I mean the vast majority of people do it with the greatest of intentions, being on their favourite football teams pitch is a potential once in a lifetime experience. Though, when things happen like this it shows that it's not really a good idea in terms of safety. If this guy was tipsy, imagine if he had a knife on him, the guy who got punched might very well at this moment in time be fighting for his life, or worse. I know stewards only check baggage, they don't check your pockets at most grounds so this could easily occur. It's horrible to say but I think it's going to take something like that to fix this issue. Though, hopefully a few clubs will take note from this and stop it from happening.

QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Jan 12 2011, 07:26 AM) At Villa they generally check your bags and coats/jackets. Although, I remember when I went with an ex, they never, ever, checked her. It's probably because the security people were all male and I'm not sure if they're allowed? But she could have had anything in her pockets.
I'd imagine security might be worse at lower league grounds. I've never been patted down or anything, I don't take any bags or stuff, I've had mates have bags and they've all been checked. They took one's bag for the game because he had deodorant in it, why he did I have no idea! Every where I've been it's been the same, girls get the same treatment, check the bags and that's it, least in my experience. I'm not sure if legally they are allowed too, the police may have to do it if they have any worries. They can go over you with that wand sort of thing that picks up metal objects though. The type they use in nightclubs, and yes it would always pick up your belt!

Careful Kurt, according to mediaset and some other papers, Sissoko could be joining Villa.

Benzema loan deal Kurt? This just paper talk or does it have any truth?
Sounds crazy but I guess with the French connections. Would certainly get a few more on Houllier's side.
