There is a difference between building a team around a player, and that player being the leader.

It's clear for anyone to see that Dinho is not a leader, and never will be. Never was, so why project him as one now?

But this doesn't mean we cannot build our system around his qualities. On form he's a superb player, but somehow it's not gelling at all this year - the only signs of success were at Siena where his contributions made the difference.

Following the entire team's poor display from the first goal onwards in the derby, it's as if everyone has given up on him - yet there's no coherent reason as to why this is a valid thing to do.

Style the team to suit a player like Ronaldinho, and Pato for that matter, and you'll get results. But don't pin the leadership needs on them, because it's not in their game.

i always knew signing this fat boy would be a mistake, we should learn from certain patterns in the past, this reminds me so much of the rivaldo situation

You would have thought we would have learned the lesson by now...

Its pointless to talk about whether it was a mistake or not as Dinho was a personal buy for Silvio...

Berlusconi said he bought him for the fans...

Ronaldinho is currently on 7.5m a season and is our highest paid player. The other players look to him when we are in trouble hoping for a bit of brilliance yet he's nowhere to be seen! No wonder they've given up on him. And as for being the leader wasn't he the one who stood on the table and proudly boasted "I will lead the team" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

What makes me laugh the most is that lots of people were saying that Kaka was underperforming in his last two years!!!! Kaka is ten times the player that ronaldinho is.

I think Kaka WAS underperforming for big chunks of the last season. Even though he was, he was still a far better player than Ronaldinho has shown himself to be thus far.

But we could aways rely on him when we needed him. Obviously you could not expect him to run the team single handed or to be at 100% for every game, but he always tried.

Whether he said it or not, he still isn't performing at a level that justifies...well, a starting position.

I personaly think that the problem that ronaldinho is not prefprming well is his positioning on the pitch and that is leo's fault, he shpuld give ronaldinho more freedom and give him the left side were he preforms best, but instead he is playing him like e attacker or atacking midfilder but in the pitch the way that pato ronie and boriello/huntelar are moving was wrong all the time and even boriello and pato where complaining about their positions so I think that its leos mistake in the positioning the reason why ronie, pato, boriello, huntelar are not preforming well
my formation is (I want milans midfield to look simular to barca style flamini like toure, pirlo like xavi, seedorf like iniesta)

abiati/storari
abate/antonin nesta tiago zambrota
flamini
pirlo/abate
seedorf
pato ronaldinho
boriello/huntelar/inzaghi

A few points to consider:

1: How much he is paid doesn't translate to him being a good leader. It just means he's paid a fortune.
2: He provided said bit of brilliance twice at Siena - but did you really think he was able to beat Inter singlehandedly?
3: Can you show me where he said that? Furthermore, even if he did, footballers bullsh*t all the time - many of Milan's players probably want to be the leader, but how many would you trust to be able to do it?

At their peaks Kaka was more effective as an attacking thrust through the middle, while Ron had his sparkling moments of genius.

I think a good way to compare would be if Kaka can single handedly destroy Barcelona at the Camp Nou and have the Catalans applauding his display, then yes, he is as good as if not better than Ron at his peak.

Milan Patron Silvio Berlusconi Loses Patience With Ronaldinho - Report
The chief is not impressed with Ronaldinho, who is yet to spark up his season...

Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi is scratching his head in puzzlement as Ronaldinho's performances remain mediocre.

According to Il Corriere Della Sera, the Italian chief has lost all tolerance with the Brazilian.

Ronaldinho was supposed to be the key man in Milan's campaigns in Serie A and in Europe, but his recent performances on the turf have failed to sow the seeds of success.

Berlusconi is reportedly disappointed with the player's attitude. 'Dinho' flopped against Livorno and was snubbed by coach Leonardo against Marseille.

This was supposed to be the season in which Ronaldinho would fulfil his promises, but his pre-season pledges have come to naught thus far.

Voices suggest Berlusconi could ship the Brazilian out by the end of the term.

However, reports are conflicting, as Sky Sport Italia claim Ronaldinho is in good spirits, and that Leonardo will give him another chance this weekend against Bologna.

Its just ridiculous that these reports of unrest from all parties is coming out. We've only played 3 league matches FFS!!. No one is being shipped out based on this and taking into account that there is more then just one player that is underperforming atm we'd end up with no team

For this team to win consistently against good/great teams, Ronnie has to consistently deliver the game of his life every week, Seedorf can't be counted on for ronnie's offensive prowess.

Kaka's brilliance helped us win the 2007 CL final in Athens.

Ronaldinho's brilliance helped us beat Siena.

Just about sums it up nicely (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
