QUOTE (Tennie @ Aug 10 2009, 10:20 PM) Also re Suarez, I really have to wonder at the brain of whoever wrote that bit of gossip (or the milan transfer people who are considering it). Suarez and Huntelaar....really really REALLY don't like each other. One would think that the club would be smart enough not to buy two players who detest each other. I think you are misinformed about that, Huntelaar and Suarez have always been very friendly with eachother off-the-field. And on-the-field they had great chemistry together and complemented eachother very well. In the beginning when Suarez joined Ajax he played very egotistically (similar to Arjen Robben) with his head down often ignoring the other players and didn't lay off enough in situations where it was clearly better to do so and that frustrated Huntelaar quite a bit because he often positioned himself so that he would be in much better position to score and Suarez is simply not as clinical as Huntelaar. But over time their play together improved dramatically to the point that they could find each other almost blindly and they turned into an extremely effective couple. Suarez would be a great signing for AC Milan, not only for his individual qualities, but also because he works extremely well together with Huntelaar. Ajax will definitely not let him go for the low price that Milan is thinking of though. (IMG: http://static.ajaxlife.nl/images/slideshow/82/032.jpg)

I stand corrected. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) My info/knowledge about the Eredivisie is sketchy at best (here in the US we only get one game a week and that's in Spanish, which I don't speak well) and clearly the stuff about Suarez/Huntelaar that I remember is from the early period. Does Suarez have an EU passport? Also, Fishdoll welcomes Caesar and offers him a cookie. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/96.gif) (Do post an intro in the introductions section! It's nice to have a boardmember from the Netherlands!)

QUOTE A number of names have been mooted for Inter's trequartista role, with Wesley Sneijder and Rafael van der Vaart among those to be thrown into the pot, but Inter could shock the world of Calcio by moving for former Milan player Yoann Gourcuff.
The Ligue 1 Player of the Year scored twice for Bordeaux on Sunday as they eased to a 4-1 victory over Racing Club de Lens, and he has shown excellent control and awareness, as well as a knack of scoring some spectacular goals, in the colours of les Girondins.
According to 24oredisport.com, Jose Mourinho has ear-marked the 23-year-old as another option for his attacking midfield position. While Dejan Stankovic filled in the role last season, Mourinho is looking for a more natural attacking midfielder but his search has been fruitless so far.
This could change if he was to move for Gourcuff, who is valued at €20 million by Bordeaux, around €5m more than they paid for him earlier this summer. The challenge of Serie A remains unfulfilled for the Frenchman, who failed to make an impression at Milan prior to being loaned to Bordeaux.
However, after signing a four-year contract with the French champions it will take all of Mourinho’s persuasive powers to tear Gourcuff away from the Aquitaine side. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

QUOTE Roma are continuing to chase a striker and have narrowed their options to Real Madrid starlet Alvaro Negredo and Milan striker Marco Borriello, reports the Corriere dello Sport.
With all the incoming stars at the Spanish club, Negredo is unlikely to find much space, but the club do not want to sell their young striker on an outright basis. However, they are willing to loan the player to Roma, an option the capital club are seriously considering after the player's agent complimented the Italian club last week and hinted that it would be a good destination for his client.
Meanwhile, Marco Borriello may now be surplus to requirements at Milan with the arrival of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, and the Giallorossi are considering taking a chance on the player, who was injured for a majority of the 2008-09 campaign.
Alternatives for the Serie A outfit are Roman Pavlyuchenko of Tottenham Hotspur and promising Siena striker Abdelkader Ghezzal.
Roma have had a fairly quiet summer besides selling Alberto Aquilani to Liverpool, but they have started off their season on a positive note, defeating AA Gent convincingly over two-legs in the Europa League.

On the Sneijder thing, we could go for VdV who's a lot cheaper, and we don't have to persuade Real by giving them one of our best players in Maicon, who imo was just as influential for Inter as Ibra was

I'd prefer vdv on loan than forcing ourselves to pay 20m for sneijder. VDV can be just as good given the opportunity. I think mourinho has alot of defenders so he doesn't really care. He has: Santon Maicon Zanetti Chivu lucio burdisso samuel rivas matterazi He has a very good bench and starting team in defence.
