Backtracking a couple of pages re: Kaladze and Oddo, I briefly saw a bit on milannews (didn't catch their source, sorry) saying that one or both of them might be offered as part of the de silvestri deal so that one - so milannews thinks - is still alive.

MILAN - Here are the declarations made to Milan Channel at around 14.30 by Klaas Jan Huntelaar:
"I'm very happy, everything's good, I will be in Milan shortly. I'm a striker who likes to play for the team, I try to help the team score, I like to play in the center of the attack, I've always scored a lot playing like that. Filippo Inzaghi? I know him, he's a great player, his history with Milan is very important. For the rest Milan have many players who have been playing at the club for a long time and that's why it's a group that can be compared with family. Certainly, no two players are the same and I'm not the same as Inzaghi. It's right that every athlete has his own characteristics."
"I am calm - Huntelaar continued - also after yesterday's words from president Berlusconi, I'm very happy to be here, I know the football and the trainings in Italy are different to Spain, but I'm ready, I want to both start training and start the new adventure itself. My favorite Milan player? In general I especially admire offensive players and Milan have many, and they're all quality. Andrea Pirlo? I'm happy he stayed. I saw him play at Euro 2008 and I understood how important he is for the teams he plays in. A dear greeting to all Milan's fans. I am very happy."
Then, in front of the many cameras and microphones present at the Malpensa airport, Huntelaar added: "I've just arrived and I don't know my program yet. Milan the club and Milan the city are special for us Dutchmen, I know Van Basten very well, he coached me at Ajax as well as the national team. Milan need to have a great season."

Some things I picked up on over at TMW
Apparently Galliani was asked if the market was closed, but he didn't reply, which would indicate that there could be more signings.
We've been linked to both De Silvestri and Drenthe, but Drenthe said he would like to stay at Real
They also mentioned that Brazilian again, Juan Maldonado as a possibility for the fullback. Hopefully this isn't true, if we're going to use the non EU spot it should be for Hernanes

To be frank, this new signing only happened after the president's visit to Milanello. Which could mean one of two things; either its a publicity stunt or erm yeah. I'm not sure who else will come, as of what I have read here, we are going for a fullback and a midfielder. I think, atm, a fullback is what we need. A midfielder is the least of our problems, seeing as Gattuso/Flamini and Pirlo are the constants in our midfield area. Personally a defender is needed, if it wasn't for Paolo last season, we would have been buried by the dozens. So, go figure. But sure, Nesta is a the best in Serie A at the moment, yet his health is something of a constant concern. If I was to predict an outcome for Milan, I would have to say (on paper) we are a solid team. But on the pitch? Well, I hope the new signings of Huntelaar, Thiago Silva, Abate, Gooch, and Zigoni make the difference. erm, fingers crossed ? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
