I'd still want a knowledgeable football fan acknowledge that I had a good team as opposed to I threw money to get a cup.

It's why Barca's success was so vindicated. Why the Barca of Ronaldinho is universally lauded, and the same for Pep.

Not every football fan in the world is Madrid fan. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) and let's face it, most non-Madrid fans will hate them even more after this.

For some reason Juventus is the most hated club in Italy? Why? Maybe because of their number of titles?
Same for Madrid in Spain.
Same for Benfica here in Portugal. Everybody hates them and want them to lose.

The biggest sport clubs are the most hated. Real Madrid, Manchester United, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Lakers, Detroit Red Wings...

Many people love those clubs. But many people can't stand them too.
Why? Because they're the best and with more titles in History.

Yes. Because wasting 38M/euros for a right-back and 150M/euros overall last Summer is not "throwing money"...

I honestly wouldn't want my club to do this (because the whole world will hate my club!), but agree, they made the impossible possible. it's not just about $$$. few thought Milan or Man U would ever sell their stars for any sum. both clubs told Calderon to go **** himself when he asked for their stars. but Perez comes and signs Kaka and Ronaldo in three days' time. I mean, gee...

Seems to me that our management couldn't wait to get rid of Ricky, just goes to prove how appreciated he really was...

Being hated is something every club strives for in my opinion (not literally, it's not like an aim or anything). Nobody hates small time clubs because nobody cares about them. I bet it's no coincidence that the likes of United and Madrid are amongst the most hated teams in the World (and also the most supported).

Thats because Detroit are more succesful recently. No offense, but Canadian teams have been rather irrelevant of late, even when they make the finals they just fail badly. Nobody hates them, they merely nothing them. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

k well canadian teams and the montreal canadiens are two different things.

and well if they can make the finals i'd say they're somewhat relevant.

btw canadian billionaire jim balsillie (or as some like to call him baldsilly (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ) is probably get his hands on phonenix and move em to hamilton.

Hmm...I see your point.

But when the spine of your team consists of Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Messi,Valdes...blokes who've been playing there forever it's a little different isn't it?

It's obvious Madrid are not doing the same thing which is filling in holes. They're buying a whole new team. They'll keep Raul and Iker for sentiment's sake (the latter for his skills as well) and the rest might have to abandon ship.

It's the difference between building a team and buying one.

At the end of the day its the silver wear that counts. whether or not they build or buy a team is irrelevant.

in the end would you rather u have the best players in the world and win lots of trophies or have the approval of fans of the clubs you dont even give af about?

Of course best players and trophies. but it's better if those best players are my team's former youth players. Barca didn't buy Messi for £80m but he's as good as CR and Kaka. there are also Iniesta, Xavi, Puyol, etc. that's IMO the best way a team can be managed. Madrid are my favorite Spanish team but I can't help but admire Barca's philosophy (regardless of its success).

The most successful clubs or the winner clubs at the time? because right now Juve cannot hold a candle to Inter in that respect, am I right? I mean why would people hate Juve when it's Inter that's winning the title year in, year out?

Think about it from a real madrid perspecitive. Their arrogance is at the level where they think they should be winning the treble every season. So for them its the silver wear that counts more than having ronaldo in their team. They demand the best players in order to win everything. Thats why I said its irrelevant. They don't have the patience to nurture a player like Pato or Kaka through time. They want wins right now.

For us its a little bit different and I can understand why you and many others would disagree with that.

Do you see those players in madrid for more than 5 years? I dont. Unless they are extraordinary, Madrid will sell them.
