I am kind of saddened that the Barca of last season didn't do much. A team with so many stars, from the defense to the strikers, it was one hell of a team. Plus the fact that Ronaldinho started from the bench in some instances tells you a lot about that team.
Ah well ... The new season is upon us and it will be interesting to see how Barca's new president (if elected) will do. Moreover, Valencia will be a team to look closely at this summer too, as they have so much layers who might be put on the market (one of which is Baraja one of my favourite players in La Liga) ...

Liverpool paid good money for Morientes. But he was not that good there. Some years after they break the bank for Torres and we all know what happened - they got the best foward around.

No matter who they sign, I doubt Guardiola can forge a team with them... but that remains to be seen.

Alves is the best full-back in Europe. He has been at the top in the past three seasons.

After trying to follow Juve striker David Trezeguet, it seems as though Barca have stopped their pursuit and shifted their attention and strength to landing Milan target Emanuel Adebayor.


Firan Soriano (spell), one of the three advisers to Laporta, and the financial manager of Barca had stressed that Adebayor was the main target of Barca: "It is obvious that Trezeguet is a great striker, but he is not in out plans, and we have not entered into negotiations with Juve. And the reason for that is that we have a goal in this transfer session and it is Adebayor."

Sorry zd, but gotta agree with dst here. Ramos is Spain's best defender as of today, but has years to go before he steps up to be termed a legend. For me less than 1% of all the professional players earn that right.

I meant a legend in the making of course. he will be considered a legendary Real defender someday, just like Hierro. whether you guys like it or not.

I can't even think of another player that deserves it really. Casillas maybe? But UEFA seem to rule it mainly on Champions League performances, where Ronaldo won it and finished top scorer.

The Euro and World Cup competitions largely take part in this decision but there was no one that really stood out last month... Casillas was not even his team's second best player.
There really is no opponent for CR in this edition. I don't like him but what the ****, he was on fire all season long!

Why should they stop producing PS3's!?? Both consoles are going to have the same third-party titles and the only difference will be home made games like Gran Turismo and Gears of War. BUT Blu-ray will win the battle with HD-DVD. Why? Because the porn industry is supporting the former... I'm not joking! Of course at that point a burner will be introduced that will be able to burn both formats, like what happened with DVR -/+ but the X360 will be "stuck" with HD-DVD. Well that will only affect you if you use your console as a movie player which I don't so...

And then there's Wii which offers a whole different experience and many more original or exclusive titles...

I miss SEGA's consoles...
