The english tabloid, the Daily Star, is reporting that the dirtyrottenscousers are interested in Kaladze.

(zeddie, Fishdoll would be thrilled if we were to raid Roma for De Rossi).

QUOTE (Tennie @ May 18 2009, 07:00 AM) *
Couple of things.

1. Marco Van Basten had dinner last night with former teammates Mauro Tassotti and Filippo Galli. Could just be coincidence but..
2. Berlusconi announced that there will be a couple of purchases, hinting that the club will buy a defender and attacker. Current speculation says the most likely candidates are Mexes and Adebayor.

So much for success next season... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Yeah, I'd say so. Mexes was in awful form for Roma more often than not this season.

I see no point in keeping Becks around, either, since we didn't exactly turn into world beaters with him. It's his stint in L.A. all over again.

I'm not sure who I'd want (that's a realistic target). Hard to decide who'd really best add to the team.

Agreed... At least at this point in time; we need time to to see how things play out (with our team and other clubs alike) in order to say who comes and goes really.
I do wish we could assert ourselves as a true buying [better word 'transfer'] force in the market this year though.
(...With the necessary transfers that is)

Here's a new one from milannews: Milan are apparently also interested in Shakhtar captain Dario Srna (who also is a regular starter for the Croatian NT). Srna can play as fullback and in midfield. Good ball control and good on set pieces (he's their free kick and corner guy).

Great, another Croat named Dario in our squad. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I remember Srna looked very good when we played Shakhtar.

Something just crossed my mind the other day, why the hell don't wee look at the players INSIDE Italy? when was the last time we bought a 'star' from a Serie A club who immediately made it to the XI without a particular problem?!...

I just woke up, zeddie, but the last two I remember being bought from italian clubs and starting immediately are Nesta and Rui.

That's what I thought. and it says a lot... if I didn't know the management have a fetish for other leagues' players I'd think we're banned from signing Serie A based players or something...

Interesting rumor on milannews:
There's talk of a trade between Milan and Napoli -- Hamsik for Borriello and $$.

What do you guys think?

Couldn't hurt. It's not as if Borriello has ever been an invaluable cornerstone of the squad.

I'd take the plunge.

Don't think it's reasonable. Hamsik along with Santacroce are the stars for the future for Napoli, and Borriello just came off an injury-plagued season.

I hope not. First of all, we're packed in the midfield, if Hamsik is already being considered, this would mean that Gourcuff has absolutly no future in the club. Hamsik is great, no doubt, but Gourcuff is way better. Also if this were to happen we'd absolutly need to get a new striker, meaning that we'd have that much less funds to use in the defence which is what we should be focusing on anyways. Only player we should consider swapping Borriello for in Napoli, is Santacroce.
