QUOTE (Habitant @ May 6 2009, 06:48 AM) like i said one foot gets the ball, the other one chops fabregas, two different actions that are unrelated. using your logic as long as you get the ball you can follow through how ever you want like lets saw cleat his shin or elbow his face or i dunno as long as you get the ball? He threw himself to the ground to stretch his leg and take the ball from Fabregas, he did that. What is he meant to do then, completely cease all movement? It's impossible, his momentum took him into Fabregas, after wining the ball. Not a foul in a million years. Incidently, 2 of my best friends are Arsenal fans and feel it was harsh. The only person off this site who I know feels it was the correct decision was my dad.. but he'd say anything against United is correct. Feel sorry for Chelsea, they deserved to go through on the way they defended over the 180 minutes, but as usual, no luck for the English.

QUOTE (Kaka Is Brilliant @ May 6 2009, 11:46 PM) ... as for Messi, well if it was Ronaldo he'd be lambasted for a performance that was so distinctively average as that but that's another matter. The difference is, Messi never came up with stuff like 'I'm the best in the world' so it's only normal that he won't be criticized as hard as CR. At least you didn't make Fishdoll cry, Warchant. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Only saw the last 20 minutes of the game so can't comment on much really. Iniesta's strike was lovely, though.

QUOTE (dst @ May 6 2009, 10:39 PM) Oh yeah, my bad. Clearly Arsenal were lucky to conceed a 41 yard free-kick. United were even luckier to lose a player for the final due to an ametuerish mistake. Chelsea top the lot though, defend impeccably for 180 minutes against oone of the Worlds best attackes and go out. They were lucky the ref was terrible and didn't award them any penalties though. What was it, 2, 3 they should have had? All we need now is for United to lose on penalties in the final. Luckiest. Country. Ever.

All we need now is for United to lose on penalties in the final. Luckiest. Country. Ever. If Arsenal were unlucky to concede that free-kick Utd were lucky to score it. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Barcelona lost a player for the final due to complete blindness. Instead Anelka should have been given a yellow card and should have missed the final had Chelsea gone through. I don't know what your definition of impeccable is but Barcelona had 4 huge chances in the first game and were also not awarded a penalty. Is this all because Birmingham's coming back up you Greatest.Whiner.Ever!? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

QUOTE (dst @ May 7 2009, 02:09 AM) The difference is, Messi never came up with stuff like 'I'm the best in the world' so it's only normal that he won't be criticized as hard as CR. Actually it was "I'm the 1st, 2nd and 3rd best player in the world" (IMG: style_emoticons/default/puke.gif) (IMG: style_emoticons/default/puke.gif) The REAL difference is, Messi had an average game against a team that defended with at least 10 men for 180 minutes! it was was probably the first time I saw Messi so ineffective but few, if any, could do any better against this defense. Well, we can judge better after the final. QUOTE (dst @ May 7 2009, 01:24 AM) Justice is a cold ***** and she left it for late!! smile.gif
**** off Hiddink! You and your ****ing anti-football tactics! Chelsea have only themselves to blame, they could have finished Barcelona who were terrible today and yet they did not. Well done Hiddink!
On the other side though, Guardiola was even worse. Instead of introducing Gudjohnsen in the game he put Piquet up front!! laugh.gif laugh.gif And he first change came on the 85th minute... awful decisions! Ini saved his ***!!
The ref was terrible. He should not be allowed to ref at this level again.
I know Chelsea would have a bigger chance to beat Utd in the final but I did not want to see them at all in the final after their displays in these two games.
Barcelona will lose even if they play twice as good as they did tonight. Messi was disappointing.
Anyway... at last, the two best teams in Europe both make it to the final! I hope it's going to be a great game.
Did I say **** of Hiddink? Oh yeah I did. Well it does not hurt to say it again: **** off Hiddink!!! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Agree with most parts except that Barca have already lost the final. I wouldn't crown Man U yet unless they want to repeat what Chelsea did (defend with 10) which I doubt they would. Well for whatever reason Messi did not do well last night. My point is, CR said he's the best (a couple of times before saying what you quoted too) so he's going to be judged in every game accordingly to what he said and thus whenever he's having an average game people are going to come at him hard. Messi on the other hand is judged based on what everyone believes about him. You think he's the best player? He was disappointing. You think he's just a great player? He did well. He's not going to receive the same treatment as CR because he did not place himself anywhere. No surely it's not decided yet I was just saying that they need to play much better, especially in defense as in attack we cannot really judge. They were terrible at the back last night and I doubt Utd will fail to exploit that like Chelsea did.

He's not going to receive the same treatment as CR because he did not place himself anywhere. I still see Messi as the better player even if he never declared himself to be that. It's laughable how people forget about Messi's performances in many big games and as soon as they see him play an average game against a team that defend with 10, they freak out at the opportunity to label him a big game choker. I doubt they've ever followed him other than when he's playing against an EPL side anyway... QUOTE No surely it's not decided yet I was just saying that they need to play much better, especially in defense as in attack we cannot really judge. They were terrible at the back last night and I doubt Utd will fail to exploit that like Chelsea did. Barca's only problem is that they need space to perform well. Chelsea didn't give them that for 90'+3 minutes but as you saw one moment is enough for them. so I think unless United don't risk and play a Chelsea-type football, Barca have an equal chance of winning it. they're deadly going forward, they can conceded 2 or 3, but they can score more than that if given the space.

Now Bosingwa claims the ref was bought! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) QUOTE (gal_kenny @ May 7 2009, 07:08 AM) Guys, my friend whom happen'd to be a Chelsea fan said that the refree was shot after the match on the chest by a chelsea fan but was then taken to the hospital...I don't know if its true or not.... There's nothing about it where I looked. QUOTE (Zed.D @ May 7 2009, 12:54 PM) Barca's only problem is that they need space to perform well. I agree with what you say but it's not easy to score that much against Utd. If they concede 2 goals it will probably be over for them. edit: Three points. It's ridiculous that a team cannot have their player's card revoked. Why not? It's ridiculous that a player can be deprived of the chance to play in the final because of cards he received over the course of two months. It's ridiculous that there's no challenge system in football. No one would be crying now but I guess UEFA does want this to happen, I cannot explain it otherwise. The sport is being held back.

No that was just an example. they may concede 1, but they can score 2 and so forth. I don't think Barca players (except Alves) had an off-day last night. they just couldn't play in those tight spaces, they couldn't get past a 4-5 defensive line... As for Alves, I'm shocked! knowing you're one booking away from suspension, that you may miss the game of your career, and then going for it so stupidly, I jsut don't get why he did that... it's a shame he will miss the final. he's damn good, but he needs to keep his cool when things don't go his way.
