I know it's a minority view but as far as I'm concerned, Gourcuff can stay in Ligue 1. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I'd rather have Abate.

We have no proof he or any young player will get better. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) We certainly hope he will but it's never a given. I still don't see what everyone else does in the guy. Would rather take the 15 million from the buyout and buy a good centerback.

Uhm. Yes, there is rotation. Not as much as some might like but the rotation is there. And how can you possibly say that most of our midfielders aren't at Gourcuff's level, Kenny? Have you seen him play at all since he went to Bordeaux? Have you seen the level the rest of his teammates (or for that mater the level of the opposing teams) in Ligue 1? Not the same level as at Milan and comparing performances at the two teams is not valid for that reason. Gourcuff has done well at Bordeaux but that is no guarantee he'd do well anywhere else - because I doubt a Madrid or a Chelsea would build an entire team around him, whereas that's what has been done at Bordaux. Milan is certainly not going to build a team around him - frankly, he's not that good. Very few players are. Why would I prefer to see Abate back? He's fast, he can cross the ball beautifully, and he's managed to have a breakout season at TORINO, who are not doing well this year at all. He's been pretty much the only consistent bright spot on the whole team, even pushign Rosina to the bench for months at a time. The fact that he's done very well at one of the poorer teams in the league indicates mental toughness - the fact that it's a Serie A team indicates that he's used to the league and won't need an adjustment period. If he should come back and do well, I'll admit I was wrong. Don't have a problem doing that either. Still don't like Beckham, for example, and am happy to admit that I was wrong about him. He has done very well indeed for Milan. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

QUOTE (KakaIlCapitano @ Mar 25 2009, 02:46 PM) what's wrong with the article? Everything can happen easily..... Well, the article quotes no sources and seems more speculation than anything else. It could just as easily be something you or I publish. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

QUOTE Gourcuff is better than the seedorf that starts for milan..and the thing people don't know is that he'll definitely get better...Seedorf is old, he can't get any better..Look at Hamsik...young and very dangerous..He's going to get better just like Gourcuff will get better too....Gourcuff is very good and better than seedorf now and will get better which will benefit us in the future....He has grown in stature and can get better..guyys Gourcuff is young..In 2-3 years he'll be better than he is now...He's better than some midfielders we have...I pray he comes back The calculation youth=good=ensured progress is a very wrong calculation. i get that Seedorf now is a persona non grata. Okay, let it be, to be honest, he did poor many times this season. But based on what do you state that Gourcuff is getting better? Do you watch his Bordeaux performances? QUOTE Of course i'll take a very good centree back...but he has a very major talent which seems to be getting better...on club level as well as international level...He can be our iniesta for milan... No. If you watched Gourcuff you should know that there's no resemblence of the two players other then "midfielder" in general specification and dark hair.

Never said I did like him. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) But that doesn't change the fact that I disagree completely with your reasoning, kenny. I don't think you've seen enough of GOurcuff play this year to make a fair judgment about his abilities and potential to be a starter for the club. I also wonder how much of Milan's games you watch when you say that there's no rotation. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) It's rather clear you're on the 'Carlo Must Die' bandwagon. I'd rather trust someone like Gattuso who said in an interview to Mediaset that Gourcuff shows talent but that he was sometimes not ready when he was given chances (in other words, he played poorly when given the opportunity to do so).

And I don't think other teams necessarily do things very differently: the cugini don't, chelsea doesn't, hamburg doesn't, etc etc etc. not everyone rotates 4-5 players every single week. The reason for this is that it makes it harder for a cohesive unit to form as the season goes on. Liverpool is not the example to take for this sort of thing. You're welcome to believe Gourcuff will Save Us All. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I don't think there's any guarantee he'd be a success and think he may turn out to be more trouble than he's worth if he returns.
