I'm not biased against him. I just don't think he's the BEST YOUNG FOOTBALLER EVER and that MILAN HAS RUINED HIM as it appears others do think. I'm also heartily sick of being attacked for not following along with the rest of the sheep on the opinion of Gourcuff. Differing opinions should be welcome here.

I did not attack you... that's like saying I also attacked myself by admitting I'm biased against Seedorf. Everyone does it... and I think that when you try to defend the things you mentioned are being said, things that are certainly biased, you come out looking prejudiced. Again, I did not attack you in any sense and I'm sorry if that's how it looked.

QUOTE (dst @ Jan 28 2009, 09:22 PM) As biased as I am against Seedorf you and Tennie (not related to the part I quote) are against Gourcuff. I agree about Modric who has had some amazing games for Croatia at the biggest level but saying Kranjcar is better than Gourcuff and adding that "there is no question" about it is pretty unfair in my view. Well, maybe you are right, maybe I am biased. But I last season I saw Kranjcar play top level football week after week after week. The season before, he was more then solid, the season before he played in a low-league like Croatia more then very good. That means at least 3 very good seasons behind him, still young, and in addition one of the backbone players of our NT who also played a good Euro and every qualifier match. Why do I said all of this? Because I think this is the part that gives the advantage to Kranjcar. On the other side we have Gourcuff, which wonderfull clips flash us here every now and then and bombastic compliments are being spilled. While reality is - no one here has the silghtest interest in French league football and the matches (that I conclude by a single look at the "French league-others" section which really turns into a monolog between "myself" and "me the next week", with some notable exemptions). I just thing Gourcuff is overrated and being pushed to hard, while his week sides (which are to me repairable but obvious) are being just left aside. That I also don't count neither as fair nor realistic and unbiased.

That I also don't count neither as fair nor realistic and unbiased. I already said that these comments are also biased. And I hope you realize I'm not trying to get into an ill argument with you and Tennie, what I mean is that when you join a discussion and respond to pro-Gourcuff comments (some of which I've made myself) you tend to exaggerate towards the opposite direction. Just like when you added "there is no question" above... that is all I'm saying and I never said that others, or I, don't do it.

I know. But I do it just because I feel or think that the majority of posters here exaggerate Gourcuff and his talent as well.
IMO he's a good player, and it would be good to bring him back. If not, I aint gonna morn about it.
But I don't think in general bias or exaggeration is related with "the last circle of hell". Fans are biased. Fans exaggerate. Italian football is about that! Day after day I have to deal with facts, murders, deaths, stats, migrations, battles, etc. etc. and always be calm, cold, rational, unbiased and objective. So, I may cross the line some times here, but...

Yeah, that was shamefull. Ancelotti really is an idiot. Maybe he should have gone for Willy Aubameyang as well. He could be the next Samuel Eto'o.

it's the last few days of the January window. Transfer negotiations in these days generally take place at a couple of hotels in Milan (the ATA Quark and the Hilton). Tuttomercatoweb stations reporters in each place to follow who's there, who's not, who's talking to who, etc.
Apaprently Milan's Braida is talking to Oscar Damiani. Damiani is a former Milan player who is currently working as an agent for various players, including Panucci. The guess is that Panucci is the subject of discussion.
