See, I choose to remember him as the kid who stepped in in Athens in 94 when Billy was suspended. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) He's certainly a difficult personality and would be more a short-term expedient, but I still wouldn't mind if he came.

QUOTE (Tennie @ Jan 26 2009, 05:42 PM) See, I choose to remember him as the kid who stepped in in Athens in 94 when Billy was suspended. He's certainly a difficult personality and would be more a short-term expedient, but I still wouldn't mind if he came. He was great for us then. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) But then again, why not renew with Paolo for an year or two, if we want to bring in players like him. Talented yes, but he's 35, and I can't see him playing for more than a couple of seasons, that too, if he comes in. Perfect case would have been for him to retire at Roma or go back to his home, Genoa. If he comes, then it would no where be a disaster of a transfer. He can partner Favalli. Lol. QUOTE (I_Rossoneri @ Jan 26 2009, 06:03 PM) No more short term replacements please. We have Janks and Antonini for the LB slot so don't see the need for Panucci anyway. I think he's being targeted for a CB spot for us. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) We're comparatively okay on the flanks.

As my friends always tell me when there's a 35 year old available or retiring... "why don't you take him in Milan, he's still got 5 good years there!"... (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) he can still play and we all respect him for what he did for Milan but the way he's behaving right now is just pathetic. I like him, he still has two very good years of football but we need more than two years and we need them by someone who's a bit more modest... QUOTE (MizNelson @ Jan 26 2009, 12:23 AM) In situations like this, who do you side with, the player or the team? How could anyone side with the player? QUOTE (Tennie @ Jan 26 2009, 02:42 PM) See, I choose to remember him as the kid who stepped in in Athens in 94 when Billy was suspended. He did great that night but we can't bring him in just for what he's offered to this club.

Hsm. thanks for the link, Max. Honestly, I still wouldn't mind Panucci here for a year and a half, but I admit it's very much a sentimental choice on my part. Given a choice between him and seeing Darmian get time...I'd easily pick Darmian, though.

QUOTE (mishie @ Jan 25 2009, 08:54 PM) Italian club with fans who don't understand Italian?!?! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Um I didn't know that Milan can only be supported by either just Italians or foreigners who speak Italian. I might have missed the fine print at the end of the contract when I decided to support this club (IMG: style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Not, apparently, to either us or the Gobbi. Secco and Galliani have both come out and said 'no' to a possible Panucci move.
Daniel Agger gave an interview to Danish paper Ekstra Bladet (which is...kind of the Danish equivalent to the Sun. Very gossipy, naked girl on page 3, etc). He says that contract negotiations with the dirtyrottenscousers have been stalled for 3+ months - they said they'd get back to him and never have - and he's really frustrated by the whole thing. Take that one as you will.

QUOTE (KillerMax @ Jan 26 2009, 09:24 PM) I think he was being sarcastic? I think so was Han. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Besides, I can find my way through Italian, fine. As long as it's about reading, can understand most of it. I know English alright (as that's not my first language, I also know Arabic okay). And now Italian. Still learning, though. Who in their right minds would buy a 37-38 year old CB, so that's money blocked. With Agger, that won't be the case. If he comes out good, we can keep him for as long as he wants, and sell him after wards.

Bordeaux management are quoted today (after they've renewed Laurent Blanc's contract) saying that they're going to exercise the 15 million euro buy out clause in Gourcuff's loan deal.
