I did not like the slogan when it was true but now it's not even correct! We are NOT the most successful club in the world right now... it is a lie and you cannot defend this, it's pointless.

I understand your argument completely but you cannot say it's a lie if we are tied with them. If it's 18:18, IMO both clubs have the right to call themself "most successful clubs in the World", or am I wrong?

For me it's logical, if two chess players share 1st place of a tournament they both are champions. Maybe they cannot call themself winners, but champions for sure.

No, you're pretty right. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Only if Boca wins their 19th title, then it'll be technically wrong for us!

I'm afraid it doesn't count domestic titles, or else Juve would be leading the pack (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

They just can't. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Otherwise it would be hard to top Madrid.

Let's say player A comes up with "I'm the most successful player in the world". That's certainly not true since player B is as successful as player A is.
Saying player A and player B are the most successful players in the world is surely not the same as saying player A or player B is the most successful player in the world; the latter means there's no one as successful as that. The equivalent is joint-top most successful player in the world! But that's not commercially attractive, is it?

No I agree now. Hmh, traditional logic still rules, ha?

What logic? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) He still is the most successful player for the mere reason alone that there isn't someone better than him. And what if player A defeats player B in a one-on-one, sort of like Milan defeating Boca? In my opinion, it could go either way, but Milan definitely is the most successful club in the world (based on pure stats alone, 18 titles each). Bring me some other club who is more?

Sure Boca is there with us. And who knows, one more could join to make it three? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Think of it this way, we certainly aren't less successful than the (joint) second most successful club, and no other is ahead of us. It's all logic, one that Galliani seems to rather like. Logic, and pointless logic, because technically we aren't even the best club in Milan.

No, no, I think the A and B example was really a demonstration of a traditional logic (term logic) proposition. And following the rules to apply, the demonstration suceeded and proved that there syllogism isn't true - cause Milan (A) is not Boca ((IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) . But I never should have mentioned logic in first place. My bad...

It'd be perfectly alright with me if the slogan was "statistically the most successful club in the world". because the title "the most successful club in the world" belongs to Madrid. they are #1 inside Spain (we are #2 in Italy - soon to be tied by Inter) and #1 in Europe's elite competition, which is the Champions League.

I think the title is pointless as it doesn't count domestic trophies.. do they not count? A League title is far superior to most, if not all, of the trophies that're counted. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

It takes into account all the titles said team have won so it doesn't matter if you won the league 25 times or CL 9 times.
