That's one way to put it. Lol. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Let's sign De Niro as our lead scout, he'll make offers other clubs can't refuse!

Fantastic! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Naah, Napoli already have Al and Jack. Even Bobby can't fight that.

Fantastic!

And if they do refuse, he'll have Joe Pesci as his assistant, so he'll give other club managements a good beating. We can then suck up Chelsea, Barca and Madrid dry. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/devil.gif) Hehe, I'm an evil genius!

Because they like to think they're De Niro and Galliani is Joe Pesci? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif) Sorry to crush your dreams, Mr. B, but you're not. Better go talk to Mr. Niro's agent and arrange a meeting. As in now!

Haha. Even Fishdoll is cautious about messing with the Comorra, zd. They're a scary group.

One serious question. do these things still happen in [Southern] Italy.. extensively I mean?

QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Dec 18 2008, 08:52 PM) *
Gee, it's not Championship Manager you know?

Dude, I wasn't that serious!

QUOTE
And I'm not so certain. I watched Napoli matches. He's good. But he wasn't tested on a high level yet.

I personally am certain that Santacroce is a good defender. his style is strikingly like Nesta's!

QUOTE
I agree. The stats I pointed out were just a response to your suggestion we always finished first in group stages.

I said we 'used to', not 'always'. we'd been topping our CL groups for more than six seasons in a row, even when we were in the same group as Barca and Madrid, right?

QUOTE (acid911 @ Dec 18 2008, 09:16 PM) *
Since Marlon Brando is dead, I'm afraid this isn't possible. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif)

What about Don Silvio (IMG:style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif) what Silvio wants Silvio gets, you know...

QUOTE (Habitant @ Dec 18 2008, 10:18 PM) *
neither was pato.

it's that sort of assumption which going to keep us in this ditch.

+1 (add Kaka to that too)

And Santacroce isn't exactly untested. he's considered by MANY to be one of Italy's best young defenders right now.

QUOTE (dst @ Dec 18 2008, 10:20 PM) *
They want to make Napoli big again so there is no such offer. I mean there is, but it's not worth it...

Problem is, Napoli need $$$ to become an even better club. they will have to sell one of their stars every now and then to invest on other good players, I think.

Do these things still happen? Yep, zd, they do. Why do you think there were fears of a cholera outbreak in Naples last year? The garbage companies (controlled by the Camorra) stopped picking up trash because they'd been banned from illegal dumping etc. There are also occasional nasty murders, etc. The Neapolitan mafia (the Camorra) and the Calabrese mafia ('ndragheta) are meaner and more dangerous than the Sicilian mafia (the cosa nostra).

Oh really?

IMO finishing runners-up in a UEFA Cup group is a shame for Milan, Fillipo. considering we always used to top our CL groups easily.

I didn't mean we'd topped our CL groups ever since European Championship started back in the fifties!! I was talking about Carlo era - 2002-03 onwards. around 6 seasons in the first place.

It's all fun and games until you're the one suffering. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif) Boy, I'd hate to live in Southern Italy. Visit it maybe, twice a year, but living there, I'd be very hard pressed to.

long story short, when my grandfather moved to canada it turned out he had the same name of a local mafia boss, giuseppe zappavigna, and they were constantly getting calls from the police, hit men, money launderers and mistresses until they found out it wasnt him (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) years later the real giuseppe was murdered (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

The alex stories have been around a while, cmf, but I haven't seen anything of particular reliability yet. Who's talking about it now?
